    Try breaking and picking up a wooden or robotic crafting table. This should force your character to learn the necessary recipes.

    If that doesn't work, make sure that you are able to find the file dyemod.modinfo by following this exact folder path:
    Code:
    / Starbound
       / mods
          / DyeMod
             / dyemod.modinfo
    The DyeModExtras folder is not necessary for the mod to work, but can be placed alongside to the DyeMod folder to enable some extra colors.

    I tried to break and pick up both crafting tables, but I didn't learn a recipe. I could find the mod.info file.

    Well, if the modinfo file is in the right place (with no extra folders in between) then I'm not sure what causes the problem.
    I'm really sorry but there is nothing I can do without figuring out the cause.

    You could send me a private message with your starbound.log file and I would take a look at it before giving up. It should be in the Starbound folder.

    I found the dye station on a new character.... Dunno why it wasn't there before. Thanks for the help :)

    An excellent mod, but has some bug, I'm sure with time it will be possible to fix,

    if I may make a suggestion, I think you should add the possibility of using patterns, such as those with the weapons at the beginning (rusty metal), or having weapons Agaran (fungi pattern)

    I've got a bit of an issue here, and I need to figure out how the heck you worked around it.
    I just went and made alternate colors for the "wallpipe" object for my own standalone adventure map and the accompanying mod. However, I have no idea how to make the recipes work. I set them up the same as they were set up in 1.6. The thing is, my input is just 0 of the item "Nothingatall" because I found out that if you have 0 of an input that requires 0 of it, you can craft one at a time for free, so the output is set to 1000. But the thing is, the 1.6 Dye Bucket used a Furnace-like crafting station (a modified storage UI instead of a crafting-table UI). Furnace-like crafting stations are incompatible with 0 inputs, and either way, I need to "learn" the recipes for the alternate colors to be able to craft them with my bare hands, as I have been crafting most of my objects wtih. How do I "learn" a recipe that has a data: on the output?

    Setting "requiresBlueprint" : false in a crafting station's interface file removes the need to "learn" the recipes it has. Merchants work this way too since they are just walking crafting stations that use up money and generate recipes on the fly.

    It's also possible to teach the player recipes that contain data by putting the full contents of the "output" value (except the count) into the player.config. Depending on the tier it is put in, a new character or a tier upgrade item may be required to make the recipes show up.

    I've been runnign into a bit of an appearance problem: A bunch of the really ugly clothes I've tried to dye the hideous away from only cause really minor accents to change. Like the violium-grade Apex clothes are not only really ugly, but can't be dyed to look more presentable.

    also, why is Copper and Silver used in dying, but Gold isn't? The copper is different from the orange dye, the silver is different than the white and x2White dyes, why can't we have gold, which is different than the slightly faded color of the current yellow dye?

    Finally just as an idea suggestion, can you make a compact version of the Dye Station, or even try working with the guy who does the Modulars mod, to make it less bulky? I understand the first version being bulky and not very compact, but it does take up a considerable amount of space. Just suggestions, is all.

    thank you for your time, and the great mod.

    What parts of clothing can be dyed is down to the creator of the sprites. While he could over-write the sprites with a version that provides greater selection, it'd introduce mutual compatibility issues (ie with other mods that may over-write the same clothing), when dye mod is deliberately narrow in focus to ensure maximum compatibility/versatility.

    I just wish different areas of the clothing were color-swapped when dyeing. A bunch of the outfits have to be covered with normal clothes they're so hideous.

    @Xavius
    The new version I'm working on is trying to solve all of those issues. I've mentioned this earlier, but you will be able to choose what part of the item you want to dye.

    For some reason when I try to dye placeable objects, even ones I know are dyeable, it says "I cannot dye this item"

    Oh, I didn't see that mention, sorry. Thank you for working on this mod so diligently! It's been a staple in my multiplayer server since your mod was just a bucket and dyes.
    Also, I'm very happy that gold will finally stop feeling left out of the Dyeing Clique, who have been shunning the poor (rich) metal for a while now.

    Hello, I was trying to build in dye mod compatibility with a couple mods I'm working on and running into some issues. The objects/materials in question all have the sprites built in and relevant parameters to use these colours, but they won't dye right.

    First off, there are some objects that I want to be dyeable. They're based on the USCM stencil sign, so that's a reference point. I have the whitelist set up so that they can be dyed but when I dye them the object becomes invisible ingame. I suspect this may be because I'm modifying the hitbox on the item so that certain things can overlap it. I'm doing that with these couple lines of code under the orientation parameters:
    Code:
    "spaces" : [ [0, 0], [0, 0] ],
    "bgAnchors" : [ [0, 0] ]
    The reason I think this may be the problem is because while I was tweaking those values to get the placement box to be the size I wanted, there were times when the object would be invisible. I managed to get it working in a way where the objects are visible and can overlap each other in the ways I wanted. Having a placement box the size of the object here is not an option, mind you. I will need to find a workaround like having seperate objects for their different colours if I cannot have the placement box remain unchanged.

    For my second problem, I created a platform with the appropriate sprites to be able to be dyed. The object can be put into the dye menu and dyed, however, this does not change the appearance of the platform. It stays the same base colour regardless of which colour I dye it to. I couldn't find anything in DyeMod's files pertaining to platforms so I'm not sure what to do to fix this.

    I can post full item JSONs if necessary. Hope I can get these issues sorted out! Thanks in advance. :)

    I'm having a big problem. It isn't showing up in game, even though it is in my mods folder. Since I've never used mods in any game, I don't know what I've done wrong. I have it in my mods folder, however, I have a compressed and extracted version of the same folder. Do I need to remove the compressed folder?
