Dwarf Scroll I

I can't seem to find it at all. The wiki says you get it from the first 40 floors of the mine, but I've been running around those floors for days now, breaking things and killing monsters, and I can't find it. It's super annoying, since I have the other three and running around in the first few levels feels like such a waste of time these days... So, am I missing something, or am I just really unlucky?

 

Honestly I missed it also and was my last scroll, took a few days of low level mines but since I was so overpowered I could cover like 15 floors in a day. Start very low, I think I got in the teens level wise and 40 might be a bit too generous on the range it drops.
Luck is a hard thing to gauge. I have had no luck on certain items (artifacts and such) and seen streamers get in first few days and then not even donate and sell them being so happy at the 150g odd. I HATE THEM ALL SO SUCH *sob sob* I needed those for my museum >.<

 

You do get it from the first 40 floors, just keep on breaking rocks and killing enemies. I'm not sure if it only drops from monsters, I think one of my scrolls dropped from a rock. if they do drop from rocks aswell, make some bombs and blow everything up

 

The irritating thing is that when I was farming iron I got like 40 Dwarf Scroll II. Seriously, they dropped from like every other monster. Scroll I? Not so much.

 

Know the feeling, I was selling a lot of scrolls later on but lacked the first one.

 

For me it's the other way round. Never saw a DS II. Got tons of I,III,IV but no II Q.Q
Already got ~50Geodes from repeatedly destroying everything in the mines (40-50)

 

I got lucky and got the scroll on lv 8 at my third try in the mines.

 

I got a bunch of these scrolls when I went back to load up on bug meat, so they definetly do drop from the earlier mine levels. Most of them (5 out of 6) dropped from monsters. Not sure if that affected anything, but I usually had +1 luck from food.

 

Yeah, I got one after like ten days of farming the low level mines. Oh well. I have a dwarf friend now, so everything is OK.

 

I need IV...6 freaking in game years and not a sniff of one ;_;

 

There have been several threads about this, before. The gist of the answers were that artifacts are found easily or with difficulty due to a randomized factor in any given game. Usually, at least a few artifacts will prove very hard to find, and may take as many as four to five years. I can sympathize, but there's nothing that can be done short of using a cheat mod. And there's much to be said for not doing so--the thrill of finally completing the lot, and all that.

 

I find that the burglar's ring helps if you've slain 600 dust sprites.

 

I feel your pain. It took me forever to get Dwarf Scroll IV. Just keep digging in loose dirt, cracking rocks and fighting monsters. Sooner or later you'll be lucky. Maybe you'll even get the slime bounty on the way.
