Dual Wielding

As quoted above. It's definitely possible to dual wield shields.

Alright but how do you dual wield
i put a shield on the left and a 1 handed swrd on the right. how do i use them both.

 

Make sure nothing else is selected, use left mouse and right mouse.

To dual wield put a one handed weapon/shield in the L slot and another in the R slot (The blue and red ones at the centre of your toolbar)

Press X to switch to the left handed weapon if it isn't already out, press Z to switch which hand your dual wielded weapons are in,

There you have it, dual wielding 101.

For convenience sake, you may want to put the sword in your character's left hand. Left click = left hand, right click = right hand. So unless you want to block with your primary mouse button and swing with your secondary, your character is probably going to be left-handed.

Considering that people like to complain about duplicate threads... I say that this one is pretty legit...

hit ` it will select your L,R

 

I believe you can also use the X key to quick select L/R

To dual wield anything: Left-click an item on the hotbar, then right-click another.

Not as far-fetched as you think... Dual wielding shortswords and daggers is quite simple. Longswords probably take practice to avoid losing a toe or your nose. Battleaxes, I do not suggest trying to dual wield...

 

However they are reviving dragons.....
