Does anyone know how high we can go?

I know digging depth is capped, but how how high can we go? If you know then let me know!!!

 

to the stars obviously i mean comeone its in the name starbound which means clearly the stars are the limit

I would hope a very high atmospheric level. What's the point of being able to build skyscrapers (if you're building cities) without being able to scrape the skies?

you can go quite high, infact you can travel several light years upwards using your space shuttle!

I would like to see a height that would allow us ample space to build floating cities or skyships. Something I always ran into in terraria and Minecraft is that you always had to build those just barely off the ground to be able to fit any kind of substantial structures on there. Or you had to build "shallow" (ie, you could not build tall structures in you sky city).

I'd be really happy if I could build a sky city a la Star Wars. Or have the haleluya mountains from avatar and have enough space to stick something substantial on there.

 

Regardless of the maximum height... Perhaps there are worlds that have a very low ground compared to others. Those would leave you with more building room in the height.
Comparable with a minecraft world generated at Y20 instead of Y65.

 

Make the max height terraria-like, and it will be fine. Just.... add the jetpacks to improve... "height usage during PvP"

I expect the maximum height attainable in the planet view, when we've beamed down, will be akin to Terraria. High enough to accommodate very tall structures, but not so big that the top can't be reached in a matter of a few seconds with the right equipment.

 

High enough to get eaten by damn wyverns.

 

And just how high could a wyvern fly if a wyvern could fly high?

Hmmm I would say not out side of the planets natural atmosphere which could vary between planets and moons.
