Does Anyone Else Make Up Stories About Their Crew Members?

I've grown quite attached to my little crew, to the point where I felt genuine distress when I accidentally dismissed one of them (really, there should be a 'Are you sure?' message box when you do that, it's way too easy to hit the big dismiss button by accident.)

A few of my favorites so far:

Hideyoshi, the constantly-terrified Hylotl Tailor, can often be found screaming and waving his arms in surprise when the many Floran crew members sneak up on him or try to jokingly nibble on his fins. Despite living in constant fear of becoming a snack and wondering why he ever left his happy little Hylotl village, he is a consummate professional and keeps everyone's uniforms in top shape.

Akibaru, a Floran Soldier, joined the crew because he had a crush on the ship's gorgeous Floran captain (as evidenced by how he constantly said 'Floran so pretty' while I was escorting him around on quests.) Of course, the captain is too professional to fraternize with subordinates, but he lives in hope that she will someday reciprocate his feelings.

Nulula & Xolika, Floran Medic and Soldier respectively, are nearly identical and probably grew off the same vine. The 'sisters' greatly enjoy going on planet missions together. Xolika loves rushing head-first into combat, with Nulula panting to keep up and grumbling at her to be careful while she gets her medical supplies ready for the inevitable outcome.

Starheart, my ship's Engineer, who is a gay robot space princess. As if I needed another reason to love this game.

Dandio, another Floran Soldier. Takes her job way too seriously, frequently has 'dead inside' as her status, never seen without her skull helmet. Often exasperated by other crew members' easy-going ways, she needs to learn to relax and enjoy herself more.


Anybody else got any good crew headcanons going?

I don't really like my crew, but the first one always wears a helmet so I have decided he was born with a birth defect and could never attract a mate so he joined my crew as soon as he saw me.

 

Welp, aside from the fact that my glitch engineer is always deeprest, she's good at enhancing the motor
However, due to her rather fragile psychological state, I prefer to avoid to take her to battle

 

I have Yuuto, he is a Hylotl much like the lovely captain, he is also a chemist, he joined the crew because he has a dream of making the captain fall for him one day but is always in competition with the ever fancyful green avian named Tlazoli who is the crews mechanic, he constantly tries to impress every girl on the ship but is mostly interested in the captain as it makes Yuuto upset.
Then we have my second chemist Haruna she is a lovely hylotl much like the captain who is always very depressed and kind of hates the world, she only joined the crew because her former room mate was a really creepy apex guy who was always hitting on her, but now she has to deal with Tlazoli.
Then we have Katsuro the medic, he is a hylotl as well but never says much and tends to keep to himself, he is very good at his job and a very proud individual, never spends time flirting or has time for games.
Then we have Tizel the tailor, she is a very odd avian, she joined the crew because she just wanted to reach the stars and beyond, and has some odd obsession with purple as her choice of job is tailor = purple and her feathers are also purple, her job as a tailor was only a hobby and remains so, she tends to space out allot...
Then there is Faris who is one of two soldiers, I am pretty sure he is a guy... However he wears a very big helmet and it is otherwise hard to know his gender, I think he is a guy apex, who is in love with my female gender confused robot soldier named Bravelord? who wears a viking helmet. I bet Faris likes her beard, but they spend allot of time together although Bravelord seems more focused on being as fabulously manly as possible.
And the best for last is the apex janitor named Manik, who wants to resurrect the dead..... *ahem* I could not resist his profile.

 

The Captain told Shimori repeatedly to stop flirting with her. Shimori didn't understand no meant no. Shimori doesn't work on the ship anymore...

Uhh... My crew, can't say cause they keep duplicating so I have to continuously purge my ranks of shipmates.

 

Sounds like the plot to a dystopian scifi story. o___O

 

I kind of sort of do... Like one of the bandits I have picked up... I just simply found annoying.

Human Bandit wearing a golden crown. He is the most arrogant of the crew. At first weak (before that specific update) and mainly used as target practice or a pillow shield of feathers. I just didn't like some of the things he said at random. Then the patch came in. Better and with his clumsy antics he actually saved me from a few things I was having trouble with. Still have not decided whether or not to keep him, as before I just want to ditch him soon as I maxed my ship. I haven't maxed my ship yet, but at least I am having second thoughts.

Not much a story teller as that one is mainly an outlaw that surrendered his crown, although still wears it. All this over a building sitting in a healing spring... >< I think as the ship got bigger his arrogance kind of simmered down with what he says at odd times.

He is one of 3 people I ever take down to a planet or mission. Not lava worlds much, as "Lava" but most worlds, since the lava tends to make them have short comings.

The other two are floran that have the same fashion; yet one is guard and other is medic. Got them from my colonies. The don the red makes because it was popular among the rest of the floran village. The guard is a sniper with a trigger finger, that will shoot at anything that moves... ok, I just run into a lot of hostile territories. I just got use to them around. The medic is simply just that, and doesn't seem to attack much, but has nice healing backup. I would say these two are almost twins or polar opposites depending on how you look at it, since they have that same red mask. I'd imagine these two chatter a lot with the rest of the crew.

I do have others, but haven't really come up with much on them, beyond the odd diver. One to always have a diving helm, is also an outlaw, but a nice gentle sort. Found at the same spot as the king, and in fact I think this one helped me conquer the king. Since I wasn't even recruiting then. I caved in and got them both, because I wanted to expand my ship. I would say the diver is a depth explorer than just wanted to study the life under the healing water. I really aught to take him to the ocean, but too bad crew members don't follow you in water; otherwise I am sure that one would have loved to see the bed of the sea, and the ancient Hylotl structures below. I could at least maybe show him around the city I found of Hylotls though.

Most others were not memorable enough since I haven't even gotten around to decorating my ship just yet. Waiting on that max upgrade, and being picky of which I hire as last crew. Having two medics on board I guess the shipmates won't go without treatment.

 

oh man, this is one of my favorite things to do!

there's Rendlord, aka Task Manager, who is the only janitor on the ship and the first crew member to join. he is perpetually worried, especially for the welfare of the rest of the crew, but deeply respects the captain - enough to tolerate his nickname. in fact, the two are the best of buds. he is a self-aware Glitch who resided in a castle prior to joining the crew. he was never one of the insurgent types, and his self-awareness greatly aggravated his natural tendency towards anxiety - he gained his proficiency for cleaning when doing busy work to manage his stress.

Icayotl's generally hardworking, easygoing, and easy to get along with. he's not a very inventive person, which isn't the best trait for an engineer to have, but he acts as a good stabilizing force and uses his tried-and-true methods to great effect. he's hard to rile up, but he has his sore spots and hurts fiercely when they're poked. in particular, he has a passionate hatred for the Stargazers. he's always looking to move up in life, which is what led him from the Grounded, to the airships, to a spaceship. he takes to it well, having worked on an airship for a good while.

Haruka loves everyone and everything and isn't afraid to show it. while she does deal with existential thoughts, she is a very positive person who's able to move past them and assure herself that yes, she is happy with her life. she's always doing something, and constantly sets goals for herself, no matter how small. she smiles (a lot), is one of the few Hylotl to unironically like Numi, and has a passion for cute animals. she and Micah get along very well. she lived in a city underwater until the captain visited, and the prospect of travel and adventure excited her so much that she boarded ship and never looked back - not to mention she dabbles in recreational stimulants, and the police can't get you in space. at least she makes a good chemist.

Micah has always wanted a puppy, probably to have a kindred soul. he's an incredibly friendly, extroverted person, to the point of creeping people out by following them around. the concept of "personal space" is foreign to him, and it shows. it takes a while for him to take a hint, too, so he usually spends a while irritating people unless he's actually driven away. as expected, this makes it hard for him to actually make friends, so he enjoys company when he can get it - he and Haruka are good pals. though his job as a soldier may seem unfitting at first glance, he really does want to help and protect the people who took him in after he fled Earth as one of the few human refugees.

 

"Little":
My All Avian crew is fine, but I'm getting a little curious as my best warrior on the crew has been giving love eyes and even following me around when I'm trying to do something. Maybe it's the green color under my costume that is the same as hers making her feel...aroused. I feel she's been wanting a bit of a longer relationship to me, the captain and take it further than just a "crewmember", I'm not sure what to do.

On the other hand I have to mechanics who keep increasing the fuel capacity every time I join, I don't mind as I love collecting fuel and trying to outrun them. It's just weird how my first mechanic is always hopping around all in joy alot, I feel a bit bad for him, I hear him mutter about something about flying the other day. Poor little Avian, can't fly but wishes that he can, at least he has a spot on my ship.
