Does anybody know the length of a world's background?

I need to find out how long a world's background image is before it loops. From the preview images, I estimate them to be around 800 pixels?

What an interesting question. I suppose we ought to know when the game comes out. Or I could get on Photoshop and painstakingly count the pixels.

 

No need to count, just use a box tool and it should give you the dimensions.

 

I'm afraid I haven't a clue - none of the screenshots I just checked out have a repeat in the background, so I figure the backgrounds must be really wide. Here's a good pile of screenshots if you want to check them out too: Link

 

the backgrounds have multiple layers that repeat differently too. it's probably not one width for all the images.

 

What if they're procedurally generated as well? Madness!

There is no real reason to quibble over it.

Yes, programs like Photoshop determine image size and pixels by Height and Width but its still a small enough difference in meaning for the question being asked.

 

To further clarify: since it is longer horizontally than vertically, its ends ARE the sides.
