does any one know if the world is fully generated the first time you land

I want to know if the worlds are fully generated when you first land on them or they are generated as you walk around them. I want to know as the new ore update has come out and I don't know if ill have to start again to get the new ore randomness

 

From what I understand, they are. If you want a world with the new ore generation, you'll have to land on one you haven't visited previously.

 

It doesn't look like it. I started a new game right after the wipe, and I found tons of copper, iron and coal - well, less iron than the others, but still a lot. After the next patch I noticed that ores stopped showing up alltogether - there was still ore in places I had visited but hadn't bothered to dig up, but further out, where I hadn't been before the patch, I found absolutely nothing.

My conclusion is that things are generated when you get there.

 

Worlds are completely generated when you first visit them. This includes the loot you'll find.

 

Maybe completely generated but I wouldn't say they are loaded up immediately. I built a tower where if I stood at the bottom floor rain would fall from the top but when I would go to the top of the tower the rain would get blocked by the roof. This at least explains the sometimes choppy framerate as I explore.
