I would like a hologram of a gravestone. :D I would like that alot!

Yeah, definitely something like that. Normal gravestones are too old-fashioned for a sci-fi game.

I kind of like grave stones, how you can collect them and make a cemetery. or just decoration. I am one of those people that like as many options as possible.

Hated 'em. I would prefer they don't exist.

I would prefer my mangled corpse where I died. Maybe I wanna bury it myself. Maybe I don't.

    This is my business!

I suppose the hologram idea sounds cool, since this is sci-fi... Maybe when you die, you could get brought up by some type of tractor beam (since you don't actually die and you just come back to life).

Maybe when you die you lose some type of energy/resource, which then powers the tractor beam that helps you escape and bring you out of danger. It would be the same thing as dieing, just more realistic since respawning is unrealistic.
Also, this means the teleporter/tractor beam could leave behind a little marker (as your "grave"), telling you the position you died at.
Just some theories, I dunno tho, they would be interesting and cool for sure if they are in the game tho

I think it would be better if you would just have 1 grave stone showing the last place you died. Each time you die the old gravestone would be removed when the new one was placed. That way you could see where you died, but the landscape wouldn't get cluttered.

  9. I wouldn't mind a gravestone equivalnet but the way they were implemented in terraria was horrbile

I like Curly Brace's idea of having one at the last place you died

Yeah, only allowing 1 gravestone at a time would be nice.
Also, I was thinking it would be cool if you could costomize your gravestone, like have a classical one, or a sci-fi one, etc... Would be nice so that not everyone on a server would have the same grave, meaning less spam :)

gravestone cannon. handy for in terraria really.

Maybe there could be a console on the spaceship that traks all recent deaths:
-M C was *lolverb* by *lolmonster* on *lol planet coordinates*

I would like corpses that could be dragged around and buried. Gravestone disrupts the general style of a landscape, corpse doesn't and even adds to the atmosphere.

Corpses would be a nice addition to the game, I like that idea... But people should still be limited to have one corpse or something, otherwise there could end up being tons of spam corpses.

Or maybe corpses could degrade into a skeleton over time :)

Well, there could be an arbitrary limit on corpse count, editable in server settings. A pile of corpses is an excellent way to warn a player.

Maybe the corpse would last a certain amount of time (something like 3-5 minutes). As time goes on, it would slowly lose flesh until it turns into a skeleton. Then it will disintegrate.

Even better for immersion, but also brings more content requirements (sprites for partially rotten/completely rotten/skeletonized corpse, 80-odd strings of code governing this procedure).

This is absolutely no reason to dislike a feature unless you really care about a 20 minute later release. just sayin.

I would totally love for there to be gravestones.
I always enjoyed finding little ways to add them into my structures, so I see no reason why I wouldn't for Starbound as well.
Even if they don't drop on death, I would at least enjoy the ability to construct them independently.

How about option to limit number of stones per area, or option to disable them completely. That way everyone is happy.
