No they aren't infinite as has been explained previously in the thread. It keeps generating as you walk but ultimately it reaches an end. That end happens to be defined by 32 bit limitations. (Actually it comes much earlier due to a hard limit put into place because other elements of world gen break.)

I would say in total, the entire universe of starbound is larger than minecrafts single world.

I voted NO, simply because Starbound hasn't been out nearly as long, nor has it been ported to every bloody gaming device out there.

That being said, I find Starbound is a heck of alot more enjoyable than playing MC as I run a SB server now instead of a MC one.

He said the size of all the planets in starbound combined, versus minecraft (I'm not going to count seeds as both can have the seeds be different). And in that aspect, Starbound is larger than Minecraft.

thats one thing I never understood about minecraft, even though terraria is more for killing massive swarms of things (which I like), and starbound is about exploration (which is fun), I can always go back to minecraft and have fun even though building is not that much fun... humans are very strange

It's all about what one finds more enjoyable, it's not a negative on Minecraft. Obviously some people enjoy it with the large following it has. It just doesn't push as many of my buttons as Starbound does.

Quite honestly, in my opinion. As far as content goes, yes, I think Starbound is bigger. But popularity is something that minecraft will always hold over many other indie games. So, IMO, popularity: Minecraft, Content: Starbound

Minecraft limit is 30,000,000 blocks in both horizontal directions from the origin of x = 0, z = 0.
