CA lives in the United States; rural areas in the US are predominantly white (which has been a big issue in the current political climate if you follow that stuff -- I do some political blogging now and then so I have to keep track of trends). So it's not unusual to only find a couple of minority characters (one actually mixed-race) in a small town like Pelican Town. Actually, having a family like Maru's (parents of different races, white step-brother) is actually pretty advanced. SDV has a lot of hidden depth; it's not just a "farming game" like Farming Simulator. You've got issues with alcoholism, missing parents, overprotective parents (ahem*Demetrius*ahem), unrequited love, clandestine romance, PTSD...it's like a mini-soap opera in cartoon form.
I went over and played some of the games i done in the past to keep me fresh for SDV. I also suspect that I will return to SDV even after years later on. Wayward Terraria Deadlock Endless Legend Rimworld Starbound On list: Factorio Unreal World Mechanized Assault and eXploration. Stars! Unlike food in Unreal World, these gems do not go completely bad over time.
Oh man...I dont know how anyone can handle the whole "notification if replies to thread" thing, my email always ends up swarmed to bits with notifications if that happens so I end up disabling them from the get-go. But yah, SDV I think has a lot of subtle forwardness you don't see much in this genre. Like there was a time when being able to select between a male or female farmer was a bit deal cause before then it was "you got your male farmer. Now select ye wife from 3 candidates." I've also been taking a bit of a breather to prepare for 1.1 though I may stop in now and then to try to round out that 10mill achievement on my primary farm. It's not been an overly pressing priority.
The first HM game I recall having the option of male or female was for the gameboy, which didn't have candidates. ((Also cat or dog choice.)) I also remeber when they were separate games for male and female. I'd like to say I'm currently replaying animal parade but I only played Tree of Tranquility before so... Replaying Sunshine Islands some.
wow, thats called life lol. youll experience that tons. just something you learn to deal with after a while haha. you have to take a break and walk away. if something made you feel that way in the first place then something was done right. feelings like that don't get replicated again, thats the excitement of the new
