Do you feel we need more coal?

    It makes perfect sense, in the context that we need to be providing feedback on more than alpha/beta sector content. If it took 10-12 hours to go from one sector to the next out of the need to hunt for necessary ores to gear up, there'd be hardly any time at all left to check out higher-end content between patches. Of course, on the other hand it wouldn't be a bad idea to improve the fuel:eek:re ratio at least for this phase of the beta, if that's the intended purpose. As things are now, coal is a pretty big bottleneck that's keeping people from accessing the higher content we well need to be.

    As it is, as long as you can get enough fuel to make your first jump you should be fine. You just need to exercise forethought as to what biome you're going, and prioritize coal use.

    Yes coal is used very often in this game, I hope they balance the amount of coal soon..

    wood->coal in furnace, harvest 5 tree, got around 150 wood=15 coal.
    there is too a light helm and backpack in-game

    I don't think we necessarily need more coal, but some changes would be nice. For instances the game should always pick a starting planet that has a decent amount of coal. It would also help if coal mining would be a bit faster. Not as fast as dirt, but a bit faster. The devs could also play around with the fuel consumption amount and the torch recipe. Then there is of course the option to have coal (or charcoal) be generated by burning wood in the furnace.

    So with the shift of being able to produce coal with wood, I think things are at least more manageable, so long as the system you jump to has a forest planet for you to deforest a bit.

    I still think that travel is a liiiittle inhibited by the higher 'cost' of fuel [at least, compared to the previous 1:1 on wood], but then again I'd assume that there's more effective fuel planned for later tiers.
