Do weapons you find ever become better than the default craftables?

With the new update shrinking the planet levels (and equipment levels too), I'm finding less OP equipment from random chests and hostile humanoid mobs (like ones you'd find in avian tombs, or prisons). They're typically right around or mostly under the craftables, which kinda sucks since I've always loved finding my equipment rather than crafting a set of vanilla equips, y'know? After finding a couple avian airships, I've got a couple guns now too but even they don't do nearly as much as the craftable melee weapons. Right now, I'm using a hammer I found that has ~30 less dps than the 4th tier craftable one but swings twice as fast so I can keep the quiker monsters at bay better.

tl;dr, There are definitely better weapons to be found, but I'm not sure about armor.

 

Can't find any swords better than the craftable ones with Impervium. Even my Bonehammer, which I found on a LV10 planet, is still weaker =\.

 

Ive found 2-3 swords that are better than impervium tier. Two of them is this huge red sword With an eye, that also shoots gas (does 4k damage total). Other is the cthulu cutter, which shoots Bubbles of course.

 

This has been resolved few days ago, why are you bumping this?

 

Just bad luck, my first dropped weapon was already 1 tier higher then the weapons I'm able to craft, not to mention that the stats where better then most of the weapons of the same tier.

 

Since the patch the weapon drops in loot have definitely improved. I've found several weapons that exceed the quality of craftables of the same level.

 

What are the stats on it? If there's any 1h sword with at least 1.5 attack speed that has a dps higher than 3.3k I'd like to find it. If it fits my description, do you have the coordinates for it?
