Perry closes in, inspecting the blades, "hmmmmm, they look alright, pretty symmetrical, I just think we need to sharpen them, which isn't difficult, the metal cutter has a small grindstone on the left. I can sharpen that if you want."
He lets out a big breath, "good, but this is supposed to be a learning experience so I guess you should watch," he takes the blades and waves Ouri over, Perry takes his seat by the grindstone and places the blade on the wheel at a 45 degree angle. "See this? You probably figured out you want the blade on an angle so it actually gets somewhere with being sharpened." He then puts his foot on a paddle near the floor, and taps on it repeatedly, each time his foot hits the paddle the wheel spins faster, "this obviously works to speed up the wheel, build up friction, and thus shred small layer off the metal eventually sharpening it." Despite Perry talking he seems very focused on the wheel, "now. You're gonna want to pay lots of attention to what you're doing since you can imagine if you lose your grip for a moment the wheel will send the blade out of control and possibly kill someone." "Got it?" He asks, for confirmation.
Perry lets a sinister grin slip from his face as he goes "ham" as he called it, on the metal. His foot taps at the paddle at an insane pace and the blade begins smoking a little bit, which allows Ouri to smell the metallic odor in the air. In just a few minutes the two blades are filed to the point of razor sharp edges. "There!" Perry says with a heave as he upholds the hot blade.
"Well, to begin... Is this whole place a giant rat's nest, or is there a place 'ere that ain't run down?"
"Nowhere that I know of, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was haha, there are a few places that aren't too bad, but I'll show you those later since they're not exactly useful right now. Or ever," she answers.
@quitaren12 Karas, noticing Theta, turns in her direction with a grin. There she is, so adorable as always. He's proud of himself. After apologizing and letting the shopkeeper know he has to leave, Karas joins Theta outside. "So, what did you find?" He means it both ways.
They respond, 'The man on the left, killed two people, wife and the man shewas cheating on him with. It's a pretty easy case.'
'The man is Kiro Tsukomato, he was a grocer before this whole mess.' The Apex pauses. 'Why are you so interested?'
'One of his regulars, Jonathan Crew. Guess he was regular for a different reason than the fresh food,' the Apex cracks a smile. 'So, would this former lawyer have a name?' He turns to Auslier.
He tips his hat. "Aussus Treibakh at the Borris and Slyeq law firm... Well... I used to work there anyway... You?"
She gazes off with pastries in her mouth, "wrt ws I sppozd 2 find?" She asks, through the layers of baked goods. She quickly shakes her head and swallows some pastry, "I got dithtracted by a pathtry thtall, it'th all delislpiouth!" She braves through more pastry and finally asks, "what did you find?" "Ships? BwahahaHAAHAHAHA," she bursts out into laughter, with an ill-mannered tone to her laughs. "Relax, we'll get enough money to move to another district, I hear there's one north west of here not too far that has an awesome shipyard, if that's okay." Hilary inches out of the alleyway, signifying she's anxious to get a move on. Perry rubs his chin some more, "I guess you could just swing the blades at some wood or concrete or something to dull it out when we finish it, if you really want." He suggests.
