Suddenly approached by a stranger, Karas's first thought is a trap... but that's not very likely in this case, is it? Who here would want to... Instead of finishing that thought, he gets up and joins Hilary. Noticing her slow walk, he offers to help her.
his eyes narrow in anticipation... "Oh, but I do so love a good challenge... And the "stick" is not for me to use in this fight... Now, have at thee!" He readies into a defensive stance...
Zephyr growled lightly in slightly annoyance before she began reloading the gun. Xael raised and eyebrow and walked over. "You ok over here?" she asked with a small smile.
[Critical Fail: 1] Two bombers get close enough to drop their payload, many of the bombs hitting the tower. The shielding on the exterior is shredded, and the concusive blast knocks you back from your flak turret, which is soon destroyed. Most of the AA guns are destroyed as well, leaving the base almost defenseless. You notice a strange feeling in your left leg as soldiers are either dragged out of the tower or leave themselves, seem it'd be best to evacuate.
Zephyr winced as she hit the ground, growling as she dragged herself up using the wall and began following the other soldiers out. She ignored the feeling for now.
It appears to have been impaled by part of the flak turret. It's stuck through your leg and into the floor, about three inches in diameter and a foot long. It feels a bit loose, you can probably wiggle it out of the ground pretty easily.
[Fail: 2] You overestimate the force needed to pull it out, and instead pull it all the way out of your leg. You start to feel lightheaded as the gaping hole in your leg starts gushing out blood.
Zephyr leaned her head against the wall, holding her wound with her hands as she called for help, seeing if anyone is near.
One of the soldiers grabs you and throws you over his shoulder, rushing you out to a medic. You eventually pass out, the last thing you see is the stairs of the tower, slowly fading to black. [UNCONCIOUS]
You see the man from before come into the building with your three friends in tow, Karas supporting Hilary. Rory stands to great them, 'Hey, I'm Rory, your friend did a lot to help us here, we're in his debt.' @Miss Alkane Dorothy catches up with you as the man leads you through the gate to the guardhouse following silently. Around you can see a few bodies, more people of the slums than guards. The man opens the door, and you see a human shaking Hookbeak's hand. He straightens up and introduces himself. 'Hey, I'm Rory, your friend did a lot to help us here, we're in his debt.'
"Sure are! For now at least," the Hylotl girls replies. "That's quite odd, it helps explain why the stairs appeared however. We should really stick together if we want to get through this!" Vana says as she offers a helping hand for Nezun to get up. "Right, forgot you don't like that," Joanna flicks her forehead. "But hey, not everyone can do what we do you know, you're smarter than that to realize that it's a tough to understand practice for most people." A second bomb explodes down the street, the man coughs with his face in the dirt, crawling away from the trap door.
Xael chuckled lightly. "Well that'd good," she said, turning to Danger and Vana, "Johnny said we should probably keep moving, so we can find a good place to rest up."
