It bounces over the top of the car, doing nothing more than scraping the paint when it explodes. The shielding is good enough to block anti-personel weaponry, so the shrapnel does nothin'. Dan dodges out of the way, towards the drivers side.

Zephyr deadpanned slightly, she didn't know why she thought that would work. She stood up straight, trying to figure out what she could do to help.

 

"On it, but how do we open this?" Xoch examines the cage closer, searching for any sort of mechanism that could open it.

 

The car serves as you leave control of it, and due to it's already rocky course and it's missing tire, it flips, demolishing the building in front of them. Dan turns, taking the knife in the chest instead, hoping his armor would block it. However, your blade sinks through the Kevlar and silicon plating like it's nothing, plunging into his chest. He coughs up blood as his lungs are ruptured, slowly drowning in his own blood. He weakly grabs at you, trying to hold you to him, and you hear a clicking noise.

he rushes at zephyr next, looking for where spiderbreath went off to, starting at the bag full of socks out in the open where the truck was

 

As the car crashes into the building next to you, you are engulfed in dust.

 

"I-I'm not sure... the controls must be in this room here. Maybe an emergency switch to release the cage, like a lever maybe."
Nezun gazes down the room towards the opposite direction of the way the pair came in.

 

He doesn't to notice the loss of his hand, and instead just smiles at you through bloodied teeth. One of your feather bags feels heavier, and you can't see her, just a massive dust cloud.

 

Zephyr rolled to the side, trying to peer through the dust to see what was going on.

 

You barely make out the glowing figure of the basted who killed your friend, and a slumped form on the ground near you.

he cuts off the straps of the bags in one slice, giving himself a bit of a gash in the process.
he leaps away from the bags, seeking to use the edge of the explosion as propulsion at zephyr

 

Zephyr growled lightly, moving into the more dusty areas, her dull armor and fur blending in as she sprinted over to a crumbled building, taking aim into the dust.

 

Just as you step a safe-ish distance away, the bags violently explode, this blast seems much stronger than Zephyr's grenade, launching you forwards into the dust cloud. The bags are vaporized, few feathers surviving. You roll several times on landing, and your clothing is singed, but you are otherwise ok, if a bit she'll shocked from the explosion. Your hearing is muffled a bit (PER -3). You can see movement to your right through the cloud.

You see an explosion, it looks like the crafty basted used it to his advantage. Better get a move on. It appears that the body is John's caked in dust from the explosion, as well as his gun laying on the ground. Some... Thing crawls out from beneath him, screeches at you, and then runs to the mad man.

Zephyr, knowing from experience that she likely couldn't take the mad man on, sprinted into the rubble, making sure she was hard to follow as she navigated though and towards where the rest of the gang members would be. She was questioning whether of not she had something to call someone to come get her or not, a medic would be handy at this moment in time.

 

Xoch nods. "Alright. I'll go tell the rest of my group." He begins walking to where the others went.

Danielle is standing in the exit of the tunnel. 'Looks like we just got far enough.' To the left of the tunnel is the black covering, it seems to have taken up its place again.

It appears to be Spiderbreath, almost completely caked in blood. He squeaks at you excitedly, waving his tail crazy. He looks full, he's been gorging himself on something.

There may be something in the car.

 

"Good... Hopefully we can find our way to the surface from here... I think those pests nabbed my jerky..."
