Discussion about performance

My computer is technically too obsolete to run the game, but after weeks of reaching out for help in the In-Game support forum, I found a way to run the game. I am able to run the game with the help of a program called 3D Analyzer. Some random person who was having the same issue must've found this fix on their own, and was kind enough to let me know and many others about it. When I open the program, it allows me to check off certain things and I believe there is a section that allows me to emulate a graphics card or at least make the program believe that I have a certain graphics card.

Here is a picture of the gui of the program.

Even with the help of this wonderful program, I have to play at a relatively low resolution, and in certain places, such as dungeons and the place of the first mission, there is intense lag, no matter how much I further reduce the resolution or increase the zoom.

What I would like to know is if CF were to incorporate whatever 3D Analyzer does into the Starbound files, if it could lead to massive increases in performance for me, and hopefully everyone.

If not, does anyone know of any performance related mods that are being kept up to date by its author, or anything else I could try to reduce the extreme lag?

I do understand that later in the beta process, CF plans to optimize the game a bit, but I still think that a discussion about this would be beneficial.

    Tell me what ya think.
