Overall a fairly good troll, but the length and use of ellipsis were excessive.

 

Left handed here, always learned to use the the mouse with my right hand whilst my left hand is busy.

 

reading what you wrote op, i cant fathom how you use your little finger to press e? id presume left or right handed people would use the middle finger moved from w to press e, and q. again its a presumption because thats how my hands work on the keys.. or better still, if you wana use the e button, just press your middle mouse button (pressing in the scroll wheel on my mouse). also you wrote you wont be buying the game until you see some decent changes, so great, you pirated a game in beta and felt the need to bitch about not being able to remap the keys on their forums, move on troll.

 

calm down u are not only one who rage about buttons , mostly Inventory button " I or i " which is totaly hard to click
devs stated that they work on it and we should get it with probably next patch so either wait or play dota 2 till there ,because working on game like building mining and so one is kind of useless because there is wipe on sight

 

Yeah is this real? I'm left handed and I def WASD with the left and click with the right. I can use the mouse with my left hand, but I would want to other than out of laziness at work is beyond me. I didn't realize that not every left handed person just adapted to the right handed world and became ambidextrous lol I am sorry!

 

Left handed, use right hand for mouse. It just seems weird to me if it's not on the right side of my keyboard- that's how most configurations are set.

Also you probably shouldn't toss the word "discrimination" around all willy nilly, especially about something as petty as this. Do your research, and don't twist your panties so much, OP.

 

People actually play with their right hand for movement? that must be so uncomfortable.

 

Left-handed guy here. Always used right hand for mouse. just seemed logical from setup. also keyboards kinda "encourage" this setup. side-note obvious whiny troll is obvious.

Plus the ever devoted Devs are already at work adding hot-key customization.

:edit: food for thought. When we see a thread like this and then read it and decide initial post is designed to flame out troll or encourage upset discussion we should avoid EXTREME temptation to post reply and just let it die. Otherwise we only support it by keeping it alive.....

 

You live in the computer age and you complain about this sort of thing? WASD is universal it's not a righty or lefty thing... I'm a lefty and i use WASD and mouse on the right just like any other game you must be new to computers or something because this seems to only be an issue with you. Sorry bud.

I NEVER did get why children aren't taught to use both hands or at least encouraged at an early age. Everyone's like "NAY!!! That is the hand of SATAN!!!" (usually referring to the left hand).

Seriously now, though, the QWERTY layout is left-hand dominate, so you shouldn't be using your right hand for use with it. If you want a right-hand keyboard layout, you'll need to go with Dvorak. Incidentally, that won't help you in this case, but it's still good to know, mate.

You must live somewhere that happens to be in an early period of the last millennium. It would be wise to move, seeing how no one really blames such silliness on mythical creatures nowadays. At least not in any serious fashion, lest the technognomes eat your face.

Originally being a console gamer, only getting a semi-decent computer as I left high school, I always thought the WASD controls would come more naturally to a left-handed gamer. I've only recently started actually using them (before I would always use a game pad when I could, and really I still do, or I would remap movements to the number pad and use my trackpad with my left hand). Guess I was wrong

 

Omg gaming on a Dvorak keyboard sounds like... hell.

Right handed guy here, or better said close to ambidextrous. I have no big problem to use the left hand for the mouse and right hand for the keyboard, but the QWERTZ (or QWERTY) is designed for typing alot with your left hand, so it is way more practical to use the left hand for it. So actually, you have a "natural" favor in your hand that you are not using.

 

It isn't all that bad when you rebind the controls to suit your needs. In the case of Starbound, which doesn't have a native way to rebind the controls, it is up to you to rebind them through the operating system.

 

Threads like this annoy me. So it's discrimination now if a game in beta is missing features. That is absolutely ridiculous. People nowadays don't seem to understand what certain words mean.

I'm also left handed btw. Still use the mouse with my right hand though.

 

left-hander here. They do. This is just a guess, but I bet more than 90% of left-handers use the keyboard/mouse the same way right-handers do.

 

wOOt there is an actual person here who uses Dvorak? I thought it was stuff from legend that those people exist!

but isn't it kind of hassle to not be able to start a game and play right away OR do you have two keyboard on your computer (one Dvorak one QWERTZ/Y) <- I would do that probably, if I ever come around to get a Dvorak keyboard ^^
