Digging Too Deep

Eh.. I'd append that to say it's not a good idea to go deep unless you are well equipped.

Cthulhu's giant flaming demon skull would come, no-clipping, out of nowhere and hit you for 9001% of your maximum health and has hitpoints that easily surpass ONE MILLION.

 

you usually have to pay extra for that kinda action...

 

the gravity flips and you magicly come out of the cavern, only to see this is a planet from angry birds space and get hammered by the Ice Bird, freeze to death and shatter into oblivion only respawn in a patch of grass. But then your troll friend summoned 12 bosses and left the server and left you for the dead.Just at the verge of dying, Your mom calls out "DINNER'S READY!!!". You Dissconnect the from the server and walk downstairs and eat some take-out noodles.

 

That....that sounds terrible....and my mom yells REALLY loud....mi fewings are hurt....so are my ears.....ow....

 

Yeah, I suppose I was over(or under)thinking it. Using that line of thought, if you dug a tunnel that was off center then you would probably fall partway and then land somewhere in the middle of the tunnel assuming the planet core used something like center-seeking (centrifugal) force.
So if you had a tunnel thru the true center, if there was no lava core or instant death on contact kind of thing, then would you fall until you reached the center and just hover there?
Cause that may be problematic.

 

Just had a thought -- Not sure if anyone else has touched on this yet (read most of the thread, not the entire thing). But it may be prudent to just have a Pressure metre that, even for the most l33t gear in the game can hit a certain threshold at which you die. Also since planetary gravity is different the final threshold would vary and not be static.

So you can quite literally dig until you die from digging the largest hole known in the known galaxy.

I think the higher level planets should be harder to get to the core but like level 1 planets should be able to be acsessed by low level gravity suits.

Well, in this case I guess I can just walk away and feel like nothings happened. NOPE! What are you planning! Huh!? You think you can beat me!? Lets go bro! Ill take you on with just my tail! Bring it!

 

Once u get to the core there will be a TOOTSIE ROLL CENTER!

 

I think they'll be an impenetrable core that you walk around in a circle. I presume that the character will be rotating around the core, but the camera will also rotate to keep the view upright. It won't even feel like you're going in circles until you get close to the center.

 

You can't DIG to the center to find that. You have to LICK to the center. Sooooo, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a planet?

 

Once you get to far, you lose helath and have to build walls to countinue THROUGH THE COR!

 

Or you could use an anti heat suit from the depths of another planet named A;FKJASLDF and then you can travel through lava. Duh.

 

I think that if you get too far underground, you would lose health, but there should be some precious ores "in return". Ofc nothing can completely stop health drop.

WHy only one answer? The planets will be procedurally generated, so why no their deepest parts too? I'm sure many planets will have a molten core, but some may also have caramel center~ Or maybe it's all hollow with a night club at the very middle. Or maybe a black hole type thing that sucks you in and transports you to a new dimension where time has no place, plants and trees grow backwards into the ground, trees are inside out, and a massive lovecraftian horror flies through the skies. Or cake. Yeah, cake at the center of the world sounds good.

 

Maybe we digg to deep = find cosmic monster powering the core?
