Different Versions? (Linux)

I use Linux and it's in 1.2.4 version, and my friends use Windows, and the game has the 1.2.8 version, and i can't play with my friends. I bought that game because it have a Linux version, but i can't play! a little error! i'm really sad about this, and i'm using wine for play this game, but it's very annoying because i don't has Steam In-game interface and i has some lag.

They said "Risk of Rain version 1.2.8 is now live for Windows players and will be live for Mac/Linux hopefully later this week!" (April 14, 2015), today is April 28, i need to wait a month?

Please fix this, a game with a linux version needs to support Linux, i don't understand why this is happening, i bought this for play play in Linux =/
