Different ship tiers.

So apparently this thing just came in, and for me it raises more questions than answers.
First of all: will we find better tier ships to buy throughout the game, or will we be able to upgrade them with our hard mined resources?
Second: up to this point the only ship we have seen is the same can in several flavors, yet now it looks like ships get bigger, so will we be able to change the ships shape in any way or will with all be set by the game, from small scouts to floating fortresses?
And third: space battles have been confirmed for a while, yet up to this point we haven't seen anything of it, can we expect weapon systems hanging out of the ships with consoles being operated from the inside?
Will they be solely energy weapons or ballistic ones as well, loadable with different ammunition types?

But seriously, I have no response to say.

 

First of all, I don't think this picture is new. Second, our ships will be upgraded as we progress through the game, it sounds like it'll be more of a reward for progressing the story imo. Lastly, space battles are not going to be included on release, they are a planned post-release feature.

 

I think you meant "tiers".

 

Space battles are planned to be added post-release, that's why we haven't seen anything about them yet

 

Just speculation, as this image came half an hour ago and even the one who posted it didn't say anything beside it being a T3 ship.

 

Who posted this? Because I'm pretty sure I've seen this before a while ago.

 

Makes sense, something like that is hard to add, still could it be anything among these lines?

I think i will first upgrade the engine to have higher dodge chances and to charge the FTL drive faster.
Then i'll look for an halberd beam and a hermes missile launcher and maybe a stealth device...

 

i still wish the space station was gonna be there at launch but if you get to upgrade your ship thats nice to ^^

 

They chose to replace the space station with the ship because in multiplayer people could miss out on the changing space station. But, with personal ships you don't have to worry about missing anything and you can decorate it any way you want.

 

Well if there are 5-10 tiers and they get a lot bigger it really won't matter.

 

That I know, I was asking how: you buy better tier ships or upgrade your own.
Oil your single core, its logic is flawed.
