I thought they were entertaining! I enjoyed seeing some of the early-level stuff with beginner players. Looks like the game's getting even more fleshed out, too.

It was more frustrating than anything else. I think they try to be funny, but they are horrible enough at the video games that it just gets really annoying.

I understand that the whole demo with yogcast will get a whole bunch of people to get on board with starbound, but at the same time... I don't like them. They just goofed around and did not get anything done till they stumbled onto and managed to kill the boss. Gamewise, I loved the demo, It's great and I CANNOT wait to get my hands on the beta/alpha.

Frustration, my exact same feeling most of the time. I was like "DO SOMETHING!". Loved the game though

I don't like letsplays where people are fooling around and wrecking everything. Only gameplay itself and the boss were great.

Half (or more) of the responses to the stream have made me realize there are already people in the community I'd rather distance myself from. But I'm not going to gripe about who the community is, because more fans of the game is more money for Chucklefish is more updates that I can expect. Regardless of who the person is that is shoveling money at the dev team, they still get the money.

I'm glad to see only 28% of people hated the stream today.

Those of you who think they were fooling around too much: What else could they do?
This game is in pre-alpha (perhaps that was a joke but someone said that), and very little is actually stable or complete at this point. If the Yogscast played completely seriously, they would have run out of stuff to do in about 20 minutes, but instead they were able to keep the stream going for around an hour or so.

They cunningly incorporated everything there is to see, mining, building, fighting, crafting, and even a boss. If they had gone straight to business without any distractions, it would not only have been unentertaining, but also made the whole thing go by much faster.
I think the Yogscast did a wonderful job holding my attention, making me laugh, and showing me the basics of the game.
I mean, come on guys. Are you those type of people who read the wiki before they do anything? Come on, why spoil the game for yourself.
Why do you want other people to play the game for you?! The more you see other people doing something, the less of it you will have for yourself. By making this a fun play through, rather than a try-hard "how to play guide," Chucklefish managed to keep you guys from ruining the game for yourselves.

Sheesh. Get a grip and wait for the game to come out to find out everything about it. There's no reason to find everything out, and find all that out now, as soon as possible, and with no humor in-between.

Also I find it ironic that I used to complain about some of the monsters being too silly (ugly colors or wearing speedos etc) and I was utterly flamed for it, and now I'm the one defending the Yogscast silliness while you guys bash them.

Yes, some people are being very immature and crying about the stream and acting as if they are entitled to the game RIGHT NOW. I want to distance myself from these people.

I liked the part where Sips ate all the medkits and Duncan was almost dead.

    Sips is such a jerk.

But I did thoroughly enjoy it. I noticed that Sips and Sjin weren't their "usual selves." So I think they might have had something going on with their nerves, or something. Or maybe they had to keep it kid friendly.

I imagine the latter, since they do generally tone it down for events like this. Which makes me laugh, since the Yogscast have this reputation of being "for kids", which really a good chunk of them do content which is like the opposite of that.

All of this discussion yet no one has mentioned all the 'Molly is hot' comments on youtube? Not trying to de-rail, I was reading comments during a boring bit and she seems to have quite a 'following' since she showed her face. Haha. Although I will not disagree in any way with these people.

As to Yogcast, these are guys I hate. Anyone would have been better in my opinion, especially if they just did a raffle to pick random players out of the crowd. Starbound itself is amazing and these loons just couldn't show everything that makes it special. All they have shown amounted to a 'sci-fi Terraria'. That aside, I know why the devs made this mistake. Those guys are popular and will net more money. I just hope it doesn't come around to bite us later when the worst parts of the minecraft community invade in droves.

I hate the Yogscast in general because of the community they bring to the games they play. I also feel like picking the Yogscast to play wasn't cool because they had no idea what Starbound was. Now you can be sure there will be boatloads of children from Minecraft coming to Starbound when it releases.

On a side note, Simon and Lewis suck at video games in general. It's a pain to watch them.

Here here. Though I think those two guys (did not care to learn their names) are deliberately acting stupid because it's how they get cheap laughs from kids. I share similar concerns you do though, nothing about Yogcast is good from their videos to their community following them. The one playing a Glitch did a decent job though, he seemed to care enough to impress me.

I'm embarrassed to say this, but when I saw her I really did think she was hot.
