Before the patch my friend and i had no problems connecting with each other we had a whole night of almost no lag or latency and then after the patch had no end of problems. After port forward and trying tunngle(its like hamachi only better) i've had no luck with connecting to my friend. With out tunngle i cant even connect to him even through all 3 ports are opened up. With tunngle all i get are tons and tons of lag and latency, and we both have really good connections AND played terraria and other co-op games regularly so i'm just confused.... what happend here...i was so looking forward to starbound with my friend and now its all shot in the foot =\

So was it the patch or is it something on our ends?

The patch actually dramatically improved server performance, with the exception of a memory leak ;p. I think your issue lies with the configuration of your point to point tunnel software. Browse through your default_configuration.config file and see if you notice any changes. Or better yet, delete it entirely, then validate your files through steam, and make the changes you need to make then. I would be more than happy to help you with any questions you have though. Just shoot me a reply.

I've actually been noticing less memory usage and CPU usage after the last patch. Connections appear to be the same here.

If you are "connecting" to someone, that implies they are running a server. If this is the case, you should not be forwarding any ports. In addition, using a service like Hamachi, Tunngle, or Evolve bypasses port forwarding settings by creating a VPN link to the other person's computer.

To be honest was more an issue with my router, and some settings on it like the IP had updated some of the routes, and changed things BUT didnt inform me so i wasnt aware of it untill i checked. Most of mine was running out Port IP. 3 and checking my ipconfig it was suggesting .10 once i did that it was running fine. However that said tried to connect today and got " error connection failed " so i'm at a loss here. Doesnt sound like an issue with us but the game itself, and if that is the case MOST we can do is wait for a fix. Right now though, i'm trying a reinstall of whole game and see if that fixes it. If not i just give up...

Your local IP probably changed again. Make it static.

This is highly possible, if you don't know how to do it the hard way, just search "portforward Static IP tool" in google. You will want to make sure your IP (once static) is still the same in the port-forward settings.

I have followed all of the guides, checked and rechecked and triple checked every line that there was and nothing seems out of place. But for some reason I am unable, whether through my own lack of understanding or just missing something, why I can not seem to run a multi-player game thus far.... Either the game itself is freezing or it is saying that there is an error in connecting... I am really not sure what is going on....
