Bug/Issue Diamonds are missing in endgame.

I believe diamonds were removed from all planets as mineable resources but you can find them in chests, dungeons, or missions; My understanding behind this is so you cant get like 30 diamond early on, beat dreadwing, and then recruit 10+ penguins and upgrade your ship to max early on

Diamonds are not removed, they are just rare. If you want to find some get a ore detector and go near the lava layer. Look for blue signs. You will notice that you find diamons now and then that way, but they are much more rare now.

 

I did this and all I get was ferozium

The best way to farm diamonds for me so far was going to snow worlds and look for hidden caves with diamond rocks.

 

I found diamonds very rarely in the top layers of worlds, more frequently in the layers that also have core fragments, diamond rocks, then from status pods, and mostly from chests.
Oh and I think a merchant dropped one on death once.
But yeah, they've become rare. In fact, I think I found more teleporter cores than diamonds.

 

I sometimes see 1 diamond ore in the background wall around levels with core fragments. But what do you use them for anyway? Diamonds don't have many uses.
