i dont know why i did not notice at first , but you would off think that there should have been diamond armor in by now but i dont really know if they have it in the pipe line or not just waiting for the right moment
and it would actually be useful i mean there is no real use for diamonds atm and i really dont see how it could be used for anything atm maybe ship upgrades or some special decorative stuff or maybe some wiring etc etc , but you would have thought they would have had diamond schematics in by now
Diamonds are overrated. And only way I can think of to make a diamond armor would make it look more like a mosaic, not a one-piece plate like in Minecraft.
and who said armor had to look like a one piece plate , i was never really implying that its all diamond who knows maybe we can combine steel and diamond armor together or craft separately and combine later
Actually, I think thats impossible In minecraft, they just put it in. However, Diamond is not something that works like that I assume the diamond pick is just a diamond headed pick
and who says it has to follow those real life principles ? , this is a game so im sure they can benefit for more armor sets , also there are armors that are made from dark matter and what not, and you think diamond armor is the odd one out ? so in a game where dark matter armor as well as ore's that are just pure sci-fi everyone is like NOPE to the idea of diamond armor really this community to focused on minecraft and terraria no offense really but yous all need to drop that act
Okay, aside from the pain you caused me with grammar and word formation, I'll say you have a point. But, here's the thing. We have very little idea about what Dark matter really is. However, we know damn well what a diamond really is, and its composition. Among other stuff. Seriously, we know we can't make diamond armor Dark matter? Granted, definitely not individual armor, but future shit
Well. Even if we used some super hi-tech technology to make diamonds grow in a shape of armor, that wouldn't make it any better than any metal armor. What makes diamond so impossibru to shatter is their structure... Which is also the main problem with making something armor-shaped with them. So either we have metal-diamond mossaic, that doesn't really offer any more protection, or we focus on creating diamond plates. And if I know physics enuff, in that shape they would break easily.
who knows maybe the armor does not have to be much better , for all we know it could be good for drawing more arorua energy so you can recharge must fast than other armors and or have a bigger energy pool
Actually, Diamonds are super easy to shatter. Diamond may have a 10 on the Moh's scale for hardness, but that equates to resistance to scratching, which is why diamonds don't get scuffed. Diamonds have a fracture toughness of 2.0 MPa m1/2, which is better than many gems but can still be broken with a good hammer swing. It doesn't matter what shape the armor is in, Diamond would never work in the real world. Frankly I'm for overhauling the tiers entirely and keeping copper, silver, gold, platinum, and diamonds for technology advancements, and adding tin for bronze, as well as several other metals for realistic armor and hand tool advancements.
I would like to see additional uses for diamonds. Perhaps they could be a component for effectively producing enchantments for armor and weaponry (perhaps technological augmentation would sound better, but I'll call it what it is ). I would be fine with seeing diamond armor implemented, but it's pretty far down on my list of things desired.
Diamonds qualify as valuables, such as copper, silver, gold, and platinum. This means that it should also be treated as both a universal armor for all races, and a precursor armor to an enhanced species specific set, like copper, silver, gold, and platinum all are. (Like, perhaps you can't get the inpervium set until you have an entire set of diamond.) I agree that a single solid plate is silly as a concept, but understand that at the point that the armor would be available, you would have both the metal working station, and the robotic crafting tables available to you. Its not much, but it makes the concept slightly more believable, even if still silly. That said, look at the other standard armors and tell me that they just look like slabs of metal. Copper maybe, but from silver up, they really change things up with the armor's appearances. I'd imagine Diamond would be borderline power armor.
In the starbound assets file there is a diamond armor file. There is no way of getting it at this point, and it can't even be spawned in by changing the game's coding. If you really wanting "diamond armor" you could just go into the assets folder and change the recipe of copper armor and replace its images with the diamond armor images. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\assets\items\armors\other\diamondarmor
very impressive find i actually like the look of it , cause it looks like a demonic ferro type armor witch suits well with me and the diamond piece in the chest and head gear :O looks fabulous
