Devs be honest. Were you watching The Birds when making the patch?

I feel like they were.

 

Everytime I see the birds come up in a post this is more or less what I think of.

What gets me is that they all look so.. cute. Not just them but most of the monsters either look adorable or just plain bizarre. Definetely a Pokemon vibe to them,,
Do the mobs get more fearsome looking higher up the food chain? I ain't had much time to play so haven't got very far.

 

I think they get cuter.

Btw. The last boss of the game should definitely be a kitten.

Idk, i saw a mini-boss on my starter world and it looked like a dune worm with legs

and well... dune worms look kinda.... *cough*

anyways it was kinda disturbing cause it bit me and I died and I felt molested

The birds are always kinda cute looking tho, until they use bubble beam or blood vomit or fireballs

 

Not sure what sector it was in but one of the guys on my server earlier saw a poop monster in a sewer dungeon.

 

"Awww look it's sooo cute - like a kitten crossed with a budgie!"
5 seconds later...
"HOLY SHIT IT'S PUKING BLOOD ON ME! I'M DYING, GET THIS HIDEOUS THING AWAY FROM ME!"

That monster was announced on the front page ages ago. lol

 

They were watching the birds while playing some morrowind, with all those cliffracers

 

Oh yeah, I've come across three separate sewer dungeons... all were in the Alpha sector. Yeah, there are little poop monsters with 2 hp that will explode you instadeath style, and then there are large poop monsters that ... I don't know what they do, as I've yet to have one actually get near me... there are also mutant giant flies, which are actually relatively harmless...

I believe one of them was at -8,-11 at one of the desert planets... you can tell you're getting close to one because suddenly there's this giant flat plain, with a few holes, then when you get to the entrance, there's an outhouse above the entrance. It's pretty hilarious.

 

Fun Fact: Poop monster deals 100 damage on contact (pre balance patch (armor didn't have hp stat))

I call him Poo man

and sometimes Poo man has mini poo's that jump, and they look cute

but just as deadly

 

Seriously. I just got chased halfway across the planet by an angry tortoise.

*sees big monster with claws and fangs standing out on a mountain* "Bring it on, monster! Let's fight!"

*sees a tiny sparrow approaching in the air* "Run! Run for your lives!"

I will admit it has made me pay more attention to our feathered enemies. Maybe they could stand to be a liiiitle less aggressive, though.
