Devs are aiming for Saturday patch, hoping for Friday:

What if Steam updates 7pm like it usually does

 

Then the forums will go silent, and all will be well in the kingdom.

 

Many posters don't seem to understand that whiny, bickering masses don't have the effect of motivating people. If anything, such behavior just leads to animosity between creators and consumers that stifles the exchange of ideas between the two groups, and the end result is an inferior product, the exact opposite of what both groups actually want.

There have been plenty of issues solved through mass-complaining (Xbox One DRM, On-disc DLC, Online passes, etc), but yelling at devs that they aren't making an update to their already cool game quickly enough? Bleh.

thats rly annoying that they say update will come that or that day and then nothing... would be nice to atleast have a tweet or something that they can do it for today or not.. or tommorow.. nope nothing except that lil hint from bartwe ._.

 

The only problem with this update is devs giving contradicting info.
First they said it will be Monday or so, they changed that at the end of the day, it didn't come out at the Wednesday or Thursday, they are constantly missing the dates they aimed for.
It would be much better if they said at Monday after they didn't get it on time that the update will be at the start of next month. They should get their info sorted out.
I don't mind update not coming out, but I wasn't able to play the game whole week cause every day of this week was update day, and it continues over the weekend.
Aim for longer terms, and if you finish main update earlier start adding smaller things to it and release it on the day you aimed for.

 

More importantly, did you see the twitter handle for the guy he responded to??

 

Maybe they've run into snags in the update that they are fixing, when you change something in game other things are going to break. Seeing as how they had to redo a huge portion of coding for no more character/ship wipes who knows what got borked in the process. When I see a delay I immediately think they found a bug that needs to be fixed. It's not that they are playing keep away and don't want to release it to make us froth at the mouth.


They don't have to tell us every little thing that's going on in development, just know that they're doing the best they can to give us a bug free update, that's huge actually.

 

Oh is this where we are all going to complain it isnt here yet? Seriously tho muh love to the devs I just really want to start my permanent character that wont be wiped already again with the most respect to the devs... please hurry

The amount of entitlement here is getting quite disturbing, to be honest here.

Seriously, I'm as excited as the rest of you guys, but come on, not cool.

 

I'm not losing my mind or anything, but I am getting impatient. I'm hoping that it's out tonight but I anticipate Sunday afternoon-night.

In the mean time I'm getting a new project going in Minecraft. I've tried to get into Terraria again, but knowing that this is right around the corner makes it difficult.

 

@Rossmallo I've seen far worse but.... there will always be a never ending wave of people who feel they've been wronged when things don't come out on an estimated time frame that they've taken upon themselves to see as a hard date. Nothing like creating your own situation to feel wronged by eh?

Well they were testing the patch, if they ran into some problems then they're going to have to fix them which means the patch would then have to be delayed.

Personally I prefer delays than having hundreds of comments complaining about how the devs never play and test their own updates and how they didn't really fix anything.

I am furious! Look at these tweets he's scribbling all the time. The two most recent had a total amount of about 100(!!!) characters! Not counting all the clicks and window switches needed to be done for those tweets!
All this could have been used to write down 100(!!!) characters of code.

They will never get it done if all the devs are twittering and redditing around all the time! That's not right! I bet he doesn't even has a bucket near his office chair and is really wasting time to go to the toilet! If I would behave like this at my workplace I would've been fired by now!

With this attitude of the devs going on the game will soon be done!

18:40 here in germany, still not patch, I think I start going slowly insane because of the withdrawal...

There was quite a few odd lightnings and objects in the sky but I completly ignored them... not sure what that was... have to sit here... wait for the patch...

18:41 apparently something crashed into the street... looks like a "drop pod" or something. Not going to investigate since I have to wait for the patch...

18:43 Screams on the street... a plasma bolt just hit my room. Instead of taking cover or trying to get information about whats going on here I just ignore it...

18:45 Some weird entity just entered my room. But I dont care, I have to wait for the patch...

 

I think you need to get some sleep mate.

 

They should also transfer their mind into a biomechanical quantum computer so they can work more efficient without human needs like break...

 

I'm just pissed off that they keep giving ETAs that they can't keep, shooting their mouths off and letting people down time and time again. People that take days off or otherwise make time to play the promised updates. Devs in general should learn to overshoot their ETAs, especially if they have a history of delivering late.
