Devs are aiming for Saturday patch, hoping for Friday:

just how many times do they plan to postpone? this is the 4th or 5th delay.

 

5th time I think and its getting slowly ridicolous in a negativ meaning

 

I'm beginning to get mocked by a friend for waiting this long. Like, actually.

I swear to god, if it isn't released soon, I'll flip.

 

i hate that.

 

Devs: "Hey let's postpone the patch another 1-2 days to increase the hype over 9000"

 

I'd still rather they actually get the patch working properly so we don't get another wipe. I'll wait

 

I find this humorous... But he does have a point. If you start at the screen too long, it is a wonder you haven't left already to go outside. That is like what some people do for a grand opening or black friday or new system come out or concert line. It will be a long wait because you are staring and checking every second. Which each second in that case could feel like hours, hence the long wait.

Doesn't specify a delay really, just a bit of common sense; or well I think it is. Just glad that a patch is coming out soon, even if I am doing other things in-between my multiplayer experience while I wait for it. yes I am playing multiplayer in this game while I wait, as I am enjoying it with a light hearted attitude I guess. lol

What else is there to do but be patient doing other things. it will come when it comes.

 

Teleglitch's update has kept me pretty occupied, as well as DotE. Let them take their time.

Weekend release is still a weekend release, bartwe isn't saying anything we don't know.

 

Can't help but feeling frustrated, in all honesty.
But hey, they have their reasons.

What I don't get though is why they keep making all these estimates when they're wrong 90% of the time. Just do yourself a favour and stop.

I fully agree, and hire someone with some actual project management skills that can manage the progress and communication.

 

The update will be released on sunday, 11:59 PM.

 

You know, with how all of us are acting about the delays and stuff, you'd think this was a nicotine patch they're giving us...

it's really frustrating ...
i planned a nice free weekend to play starbound and now i must be lucky to have the update before monday. i totally understand that u do not want to throw in an incomplete patch ... but then please make realistic release dates. there are a lot of people who do not have the time to play whenenver they want ...

 

Is that not what this lineup is for??? damn..... I must be in the wrong spot again.....

 

Well, they just specified the weekend. That's quite a range, and while some people took that is "yay! I can play all weekend!!" the more realistic view is, patch could come out at anytime, including Sunday, if at all.
The devs can't say for sure when it will come out, but just a best guess. In programming (and many other professions,) there can be unexpected bugs around any corner that cause delays.
That said, if they have run into some unexpected delay... a word would be great so people aren't wearing out the F5 key.

 

They could finish the patch/testing and then give users a time estimate when it'll be out. For example, they could have it done a week before and release it the next week. That's the only way the estimate would work 100% of the time. A lot of alpha/beta developers miss their time estimates, it's to be expected of them too.
