DevilBro's Pengubot

I always loved the idea of enemies having some mecharobots. Just for the purpose of having mecha fights!

My monster is the Pengubot.

History: Living all alone on an ice planet penguins started to develope their own technology. The Pengubot is one of them. The Pengubot is a small tank driven by one penguin. He is powered by oil that penguins found in the depths of the ice decades ago. The penguins observed stranger visitors from other planets and their weapons to copy them the best way they could. One of their most dangerous weapons is a bomb of course brought by mankind to poor iceplanet. The thank itself is built from scrapmetal the visitors left behind or from old metal the penguins found frozen in the ice. Even if he is made from old metal his outershell is really hard, protecting the little penguin inside the head. The penguins usually are a rather peaceful species but because of many visitors polluting their homeplanet they couldn't just watch anymore. So watch out and don't piss them off or you could have a Pengubot following your butt soon.

1. Attack: Run Over
Damage: ★★☆☆☆
Effect: Area
Description: Accelerates and runs over the enemies infront of him dealing minor damage.

2. Attack: Machine Gun
Damage: ★☆☆☆☆
Effect: Single Target
Description: Opens the beak and shoots one enemy with a machine gun causing small damage per bullet.



3. Attack: Flamethrower
Damage: ★★★☆☆
Effect: Area
Description: Opens the beak and burns the enemy with a flamethrower dealing middle damage and turns the enemy on fire.



4. Attack: Missile
Damage: ★★★★★
Effect: Area
Description: Opens the beak and shoots a missile at the enemies causing an explosion with very high damage.



Extra:

There is a chance to find an unmounted Pengubot. Get it if you can. Gotta roll all them penguins!

Quick thing: in the Run Penguins Run Image it looks like a horrible Animation because of the fact that the BG Doesn't scroll.
Still AWESOME.

 

i know, i was going to do it but i was too lazy and i don't have a proper background image of the ice planet with a clean ending and begining that could be put together

True... All the images look awesome, of course, but it's definetaly the least good one... (ninja'd, btw )

You'd be surprised how boring my ideas are sometimes... I have entered the unofficial forums contest, as I knew I had a chance to win there, but that's mostly an art/spriting competition.
I could bring some ideas here, but none of the things I come up with I want to see in-game :S
Maybe I'll think of something. I mean, how much time do we still have?

This is serious competition, good work man!

 

This is a masterpiece. Even if the contest titles that artistic skills will not be taken into account, this one should win a special price for animation.
