Can't see a way of doing it on the ship... Maybe drive up to a port in an ETG boat, guns showing, wave, and then ask where the closest McDonalds is.

Hopefully making it so Isaac's ability doesn't affect living creatures and defining living creatures as creatures that have a muscle-based pulse will allow him to be accepted.

Edit: Regardless of whether Isaac gets accepted, I think I might eventually make someone whose ability is applying the laws of physics and other forms of sciences to those around him. This would mean fireballs and such would go out from moving too quickly near him, super-speed would create heat from friction from running, etc. He'll likely be undercover for the ETG :)

    Edit 2:

    Name: Isaac Bari

    Age: 27

    Gender: Male

Gift (Power): (Supernatural ability or mutation. You can only have one Gift)
Isaac has the power to tell what an object is comprised of by simply looking at it, and can turn the entire object into one of its components by touching it, though the appearance remains the same. If a solid becomes a non-solid, the appearance becomes that of the non-solid it became rather than remaining the same. He can revert this effect, but in order to do so he must spend extensive periods of time in close proximity to the aforementioned object. If the object had some kind of effect from either touching, or being in close proximity to it, then that effect remains even if the original cause is replaced.

Weaknesses and Limits: (Something that causes your powers to go haywire, and/or limitations on your powers.)
Due to the specifics of his ability, having anything completely cover his eyes or hands prevents him from effectively using his ability. In addition to these two restrictions, during an attempt to restore something back to normal he has to keep his attention on the object or he'll have to restart the process. If his ability is used on a liquid, or something large enough, his power only changes an area of about thirty cubic feet. This ability can not be used directly on living creatures, since their state is constantly changing. Living creatures in this regard have a pulse caused by muscles, meaning trees and plants, which have something similar to a pulse, can still be affected.

Appearance: (Describe your character. An image is optional)
Isaac is about five foot seven inches tall() and has ear-length brown hair. His sea-foam green eyes that are soft despite the hardships of his life and his constant smile is thought of as unnerving by some.He normally wears bright shirts one size too large and khakis, but on occasion he tosses on a set of black scrubs and a windbreaker two sizes too large to go out 'hunting.'

    Personality: (101.9% optional)
Isaac is generally pretty easy-going and sociable, wandering around Brinkhaven, or whatever location he's in, talking to people regardless of whether he had met them previously.

History: (Required, but just basics, like where your character was born, their life before coming to Derika, how they got to Derika, their relation to the ETG if they have any, etc.)
Isaac was born to a pair of entertainers in rural Virginia, who took part in a family run circus and magic show. From an early age he trained in acrobatics and various deceptive magic tricks, and became fairly nimble. Unfortunately, his upbringing made him maintain a constant smile, regardless of what he was feeling, occasionally creeping out his classmates to the point of them attacking him to make him stop smiling. He withstood these attacks every time without attacking back while maintaining the smile, knowing that a single mutual fight could cause problems for the rest of his family.

This went on until he was sixteen, when someone started a riot against his family, claiming that some of the things they were doing couldn't possibly be done by normal humans and demanding them to remove anyone who was performing this tricks before that night's show. Isaac knew he was one of them, so he quietly slipped out before anyone else noticed, using his prior training to easily scale the nearest building and escape across the rooftops. He also knew of one other, one of his second cousins who had the ability to make others see what she wants them to see, which he believed was the reason for the demand.

Over the next four years he wandered around, performing on street corners and in small theaters, slowly amassing a respectable amount of money, though his bad luck seemed to be following him. Every night after a performance he'd almost always have someone attempt to mug him for the money they saw him get from whoever owned the theater he had performed at. Every time this occurred, the mugger found him stoically resisting and only found pieces of cloth inside the wallet after the assault, making them attack him even more to draw out where his money was. These incidents tended to bring him fairly close to either passing out, and a few even gave him deep scars on his body in addition to substantial blood loss, though the muggers ran away early enough in those cases for him to get enough first aid to seal the wounds. During this time he also aided people by informing them about the locations of objects that the person was looking for, and accruing a network of favors owed to him in the process. As the final of these four years was coming to a close he received a letter from his family, telling him that his aforementioned second cousin had suddenly vanished a short time ago after using her ability again for the first time since the incident. His family didn't know the exact location of where she was taken to, but they had heard from some of the locals that someone had blazed out of the town and headed westward.

With this information, he headed out and traded in most of his favors to acquire and repair an old motorcycle that he knew one of the people who owed him a favor didn't want anymore. Nearly a month after receiving the news that his second cousin was missing, he finished the repairs with the aid of the owner of the motorcycle, though the motorcycle was covered in rust that he had told them not to bother trying to remove since it could damage the frame. Isaac placed his hands on the finished bike and the rust seemed to vanish, making the iron look as good as new and startling the man who was resting nearby. He carefully checked every inch to make sure the rust was gone before waving goodbye to the man and thanking him for his help, simultaneously launching himself out of the man's garage. With the knowledge that he was to the east of where she had been kidnapped from, he set out to the west, crossing several state lines while searching for any clues of where she could have ended up.

After two months of searching, he hadn't found any leads on where she might have been taken, and while he was thinking he almost ran into a teenage girl who was crossing the road, though she didn't seem to notice as he stopped a few feet from her. He asked her if she knew of any recent stories of someone being taken away or anything similar, since he doubted she would know of his second cousin's exact kidnapping. To his surprise she told him that she was on her way to find her parents who had stopped coming home a week prior, and he told her he could get her to where she wanted if she knew where to go. After fifteen minutes of weaving around the cars that were going slower then them, they finally arrived at where she thought her parents were. A guard tried to stop them from getting inside, but Isaac pulled out a few cards, and while the guard was distracted by them he knocked the man down and knocked him out immediately afterward. They ran into a few more guards on the way to the girl's parents' lab before heading to check out an oddity on the floor layout, and upon arriving at the oddity discovered that there was something hidden behind the wall. It took them awhile, but they finally found a way to get into a small stairway hidden behind it and headed down, a faint taste of iron filling the air as they descended into the hidden basement. Every room they passed by had at least one corpse laying on a table, but in a few there were more than one, including the one that had the girl's parents, making her cry. Once she calmed down enough, he told her to head back up and he'd catch up with her in a second, waiting until he was sure she was gone before placing his hands on her parents corpses and activating his ability, leaving no trace that they had ever been there. With a sigh he headed back up and the two of them headed west until they reached the coast, where he paid for two tickets to a place called 'Derika,' hoping that doing so would allow the girl, whose name he had learned was Cassie, would recover from the experience.

Upon arriving, he had her temporarily stay in Brinkhaven while he began a construction project fifteen miles from it walls, which took him three months to achieve a small amount of livable space, allowing him to invite her back. He felt that since he had been with her when she saw her parents he should help her out as much as possible, though he did still wonder where his second cousin could be. Over the next few years the two of them used their abilities to expand and strengthen their home until it seemed like a large fortified safe-haven from the beasts that lived nearby. These beasts had tried eating them repeated throughout the first year, but decided that the two of them weren't easy prey, so they left them alone, choosing to hunt easier prey instead. To this day the house is still being expanded, though the rate is slower than it used to be, and statues of various creatures line the hallways, ever vigilant with their dead eyes.

Equipment: Drawing supplies(includes pencils, paper, erasers, an adjustable easel, etc.), a three foot novelty pencil, sealed vials of dusts from many different metals, and a mask.

Allright Matteh, i think I've toned her down enough, she shouldn't be braking to many of the forum rules now. And i'm sure i'm missing something that i'll have to add back in.

    Name: Kira Gray

    Age: 23

    Gender: Female

Gift (Power): Kira is sadomasochism incarnate. She literally lives off of pain.

Kira's power manifested on her 18th birthday and over the course of several agonizing hours it changed her core biology effectively turning her into a being that feeds on pain.

The conversion process left her permanently emaciated and shortened her height to 4'11”, she has long scarlet hair, grey eyes, and her fingernails naturally grow to be quite sharp rivaling some knives, she also has a rather high resistance to bleeding out.

Her addiction to pain is more than the typical chemical dependance, her body feeds off it like a vampire feeds off blood, using it as sustenance rather than food; in addition her brain chemistry has been rewired to interpret pain as a positive (and highly addictive) feeling rather than a negative one, however late stage pain withdrawal, being near death, and analgesics all reverse this change. It should be noted that interpreting pain as a positive feeling does not bean that its not debilitating, sure it takes more, and it will debilitate in a different manner, but by no means can she handle an infinite amount.

In addition to living off of pain, she also has psychic abilities pertaining to it. She feels any and all pain experienced within 100' of her. In addition to this she can prevent any one with in that range from feeling pain, or decease the amount they feel pain, however she still feels it in full. She also can cause anyone within that range to feel pain originating within the 100'. All of these abilities are specific sans the first, meaning she can cause people to feel/not feel specific pains, she also can chose whether they feel pain as she does or if they feel it normally. Also she is not capable of creating pain...well other than via the normal means.

Kira also has a rather morbid form of life steal, By packing gore into her wounds her body can use it to heal itself.

Should she go to long without experiencing pain she begins to suffer withdrawal, her body starts shutting down and she loses all control over her psychic abilities.

Personality: Kira's personality can be quite variable depending on how much pain shes experiencing and if shes under the effects of pain killers. Normally shes kind of timid, but as she experiences more and more pain she becomes more and more sadomasochistic.

Kira's history is kind of sketchy, working for a crime lord on Derika for quite a while as the person sent when breaking one's legs still wasn’t getting the message across. After a series of events beginning with disappointing her employer and being sold around as a slave for a while before killing off her owner, she has ended up in Vance's lab as a willing test subject trying to get her gift suppressed, her criminal record preventing her from perusing her goal via normal means.

I have some questions about Issac's GIft.

    1. How in-depth can he pick out a component? Can he go down to the molecular level? If so, that is not acceptable, as he can turn anything into anything.

    2. What is the definition of a component? What makes up an entire object? Could he drop a penny into a pool of water and turn the entire thing into copper?

    3. Thirty cubic feet seems a bit excessive.

    4. When you say the appearance remains the same, do you mean it looks exactly the same as it did before, or that the structure is preserved?

    5. It sounds like he can basically just put things on top of things to make more of it. Like tossing a diamond ring onto a pile of leaves and making a pile of diamond leaves.

    6. Does his Gift work on gases? If so can he change say, the air around people into pure whatever?

    7. Can his GIft change molecular structure? A diamond is made out of carbon, but turning a penny into carbon won't make it diamond. Can he change graphite into diamond?

    8. When he fixed the rust in his history, he changed the rust into iron, but the shape of the rust would have remained, yes? So the rust would simply seem to change color.

Sorry for all of the questions, I was just having a bit of trouble understanding your application. Everything else looks just great, so answer the questions and you'll be set. Again, I apologize for the barrage of questions.

The lifesteal is poorly explained and doesn't fit into her Gift. Explain it better or take it out. I would like you to explain her psychic abilities in greater detail. Is the pain purely mental when it is being given to another person, or can it be nullified by painkillers/analgesics? Furthermore, when she gives someone pain, does that pain stack on top of their pain? Can that new pain be then given to another target? You think you're sneaky neggy, but I caught on. You could and would make an infinite feedback loop using stacked pain to increase pain into infinity, or at least the maximum amount of pain that Kira can handle.

Since she feels other people's pain, can she sense where people are? Since there is a thin line between sensation and pain, she could feel the slightest "pain" anyone is feeling to know where everyone is even. Can she distinguish between people/recognize people by their pain?

Is the pain you describe purely physical, or mental as well? Psychological pain for example, would be caused by fears.

Hmmm. How are we going to deal with this... Me, @Mr_Sheep_san and @Stu and Improved are all going to be in the same location, and I think we would need a collab for this...

Anyway, I think I'd be happy if someone like Mattie can give my characters a little one-over in case I missed a potential OPness clause so I can un-OP them. They're accepted already, but still...

sneaky...right...you do realize that that was outlined in her original app as her favorite way to kill people right?

"If she particularly fancies someone she may do them the favor of allowing them to feel her own body as it cries out in pure bliss creating a feedback loop until her toy finally dies from the sensory overload."

Sneaky would be the fact that with as the app is worded she doesn't need to eat implying that oxygen might also not be an issue. well this is why i never post an app under 3 pages...

You also told me that you were heavily retconning and Kira and changing a great deal of her Gift. I don't see why you wouldn't have included that quote in the new app if it was in the original.

  15. negativenull

Because i thought that her ability to create feedback loops was obvious and i was trying to not make another long app, but i am rectifying that at the moment

Ah. That's... Going to be somewhat of a problem. Let me see if I can set up a Steam account first.

Thanks. My apps are in pages 5 and 17 of this thread... But then again, the way I wrote my characters would probably mean that they have the potential to be overpowered, though not instakill-grade-overpowered, unless I personally exercise self-restraint. Mostly for Annabelle.

    Cough.
    A returning character.

    Name: "Alias"
    Age: 21
    Gender: ♂
    Appearance:[IMG]
Often wears his signature rain jacket, which share the design of his hat and the white/orange color scheme. (Yes, the black and white doesn't really do it justice.) This includes when it is not raining. The entirety of his wardrobe basically consists of his rain jacket, his hat, jeans, (undergarments,) and one of three different types of shirts; plain white, plain black, and plain orange. In theory he might possess more clothing, but this is nothing but hypothesis made by cryptozoologists.

Ability: Can store elements, chemicals, and, broadly speaking, matter within his body by consuming them. This allows him to consume materials that were otherwise harmful without being harmed, as well as store that which he would not normally physically have room for. With the elements, he can either release them back out of his mouth, (breathing fire for example) or augment his physical capabilities according to what type of element he consumed. His preferred weapon and specialty, volatile materials, (such as gunpowder) allow him to "augment" himself as if his individual movements are powered by the blast of an explosion the material would make. Other materials produce different effects by type, the likes of which he is not very experienced with.

Also gains a taste for things that are normally inedible or unsavory, such as gunpowder and uranium. Falls under the elemental category.

Weakness: Utilizing his ability consumes the materials stored and it is very possible for him to run out completely. This is exasperated by the fact that every movement (for example, every stride of his run and every fist flown rather than simply activating his ability) consumes his resources. As such, he is mostly forced to conserve his resources for specific leaps and strikes.

Personality: Relatively Laid-back, somewhat impatient, but will never give up on something he sets his mind on. Never. To a fault, really. Tends to fail at controlling great amounts of anger.

History: Excelled in everything he's attempted; instantly became the ace of his soccer, track, and tennis teams, broke records in skydiving and shook hands with the president, but the golden pig he hunts eludes him endlessly. He's been chasing it for a year, and while it was a good excuse to travel the world, he's never been able to actually catch it no matter how close he gets or how many traps he sets. He's finally chased it down to Derika, which he finds out is the home of the "Flying Paragon Pigs."

Used many Aliases to avoid consequences of people seeing his inhuman speed. When he got to Derika, where he didn't need an Alias, he simply starting going by the Alias "Alias".
