"Nothing is quite like a slug to the chest." Ron instinctively picks up his pace, hardly thinking about it. "Aren't we just checking the town to see if we can get an FOB up?"

 

Richard completely loads his buckshot cylinder, but still doesn't chamber a round, "Tell you what Glitchy, well, Gearstrip was it? If lead gets tossed, I'll stick behind you and watch you back, cool?"

"We should arrive at the city by sundown tomorrow. Ideally, there will be no delays..."

Ron looks over his shoulder, still moving forward. "Great, a bookworm on a soldier's mission..."

 

"Why do I feel that it's a bad idea to let her tag along?"

 

"Because it is. We only prepped for ourselves."

 

"Unfortunately, we seem to be too far away to send her back with a realistic chance of her making it."

 

"We're not that far out, besides, she seems to like how cold it is." He shrugs. "What do the rest of you think?"

 

"If she brought her own supplies, I'm fine with her staying. Otherwise, send her back."

 

"Ain't time to turn back so bring her on.."

 

"We need all the extra help we can get. If she's a scientist, then she may be of use. I've packed extra sleeping gear, so she can sleep outside assuming there's no storm. I'm assuming you all brought extra food as I have?"
A few affirmations. Gearstrip seems a bit down. Must not have brought it.

 

"So we're giving her the benefit of the doubt. Fine by me."

 

"Sleeping outside is fine by me." She pulls out her data-slate and holds it high, tapping the few containers around her waist. "I can map things out and take samples as we go!"

"The less tired the better we are with shifts... There are apparently many things that come at night, so the more awake we all are the less likely we lose someone..."
