If you're like me, and create a million characters- or mess up in creation and want to save the slot; a delete character button/option would be a very nice thing to add.
Gonna third this. Sometimes a character just needs a fresh start. Besides, given the beta is supposed to run at breakneck speed, we'll NEED to delete characters and reroll them to experience the starting game content.
Very simple and definitely needed as soon as possible. Going through the files in order to delete a character is a bit inconvenient.
I definitely need this, one of my characters causes the game to crash whenever I try to load them, so this could be useful for both testing and for full release.
i found a way to delet your characters! you have to open your steam file and go to apps. then go to starbound and trash the player file, it worked for me
I tried deleting characters as guided in stack exchange by removing the .player files. Now the game wont start, even after I put the files back. So yeah.... delete button please
I believe the community speaks for itself on this subject, but yes. A delete button would be incredibly useful for unintentional character creation mishaps. Heck, even a 'character edit' feature would be nice... perhaps have an in-game NPC who can change your character's cosmetic look (that's not your clothes).
Hmm, with the genetic modding going on in the Apex as well as body resing as they do, it would make sense that changing your genetics would be in character for this game. They should just make it a station you could build, maybe by beta or gamma sector.
You just necro'd a month old post. Tiy already acknowledged a delete button is going to be in the next update.
Well, it is quite obvious that the game should have a delete button for characters. I bet the devs have long before realized this need. Meanwhile, there is of course the manual delete method for advanced users. It worked well for me, and was easy.
Everyone: Before you reply, look at the quote below. Did that just void the point of what you were going to post? Probably.
