In terraria, the game would make entertaining comments based on what killed you. I don't need special animations, but having it say "(name)'s face was ripped off" when killed by a monster's melee, or "forgot how to breathe" along with "isn't a fish" for drowning, makes the game more entertaining for me. Is it possible to put them in, instead of just having the screen darken and then respawn? A list here (http://terraria.wikia.com/wiki/Death_Messages)
This would be interesting to see in the game. I have always found it entertaining to read all these messages on the tombstones you leave at death. Maybe some death messages could be race-specific, so a Glitch could get the message when he get killed by a melee attack: "(Playername)'s gears were stopped by (Monstername)". Or if dying of fall damage: "(Playername)'s springs didn't save him/her"
Exactly! I loved those comments, and one of my friends actually gathered all his tombstones to decorate a graveyard (he. died. CONSTANTLY!).
I really liked those death messages from Terraria. Some of them were gruesome yet funny, and some of them just made you feel like the game was tormenting you. It'd be cool to see them in Starbound! Good idea.
