Dragon's Dogma rules. I think they are just referring to Skyrim and such, it might be the first game that pops in their head.

Even so, I've seen plenty of plant people in games, mainly H-games that my bestfriend shows me. Do you guys really want me to compare Starbound's plant race with an H-game's plant race?

I've always wanted Dragon's Dogma on PC. I rage so much when I see it in stocks for consoles.

Mainstream? The aliens are the ones mainstream. No I'm kidding, aliens are cool.

 

As much as I must say this new race is visually quite stunning and appealing, I must say that the dev team's originality doesn't REALLY impress me on this one (not that I'm not satisfied with this plant-like race, GOD NO). It's just, for me, it seems like it's almost directly copied from one of my favorite cartoons of when I was younger, Sonix X. Do you know the Seedrian race from Sonic X? It's an alien race (like in Starbound, in fact).Here's a couple of pictures for you. I'm pretty sure everyone can agree with me that the new plant-like race pretty much is the same thing... I mean, look at even the hair! There are flowers at the exact same place! xD Stil, great job Chucklefish. I don't mean to insult your job in any way since it's so awesomely done, but did the Seedrians actually inspired you? Or it's pure coincidence? o.o

 

They may not of intended to make it look like it, but I understand why you don't like it. Well the flower in the same place gives me a suspicion...

I see your point there. Though I'm hoping to see some official art, so I can fairly compare both. It's not fair that one comparison is a pixel sprite xD

 

This new race reminds me of the Sylvary in Guildwars 2 and i'm surprised no one has mentioned them yet. I don't care if its ripped off or not, more games should have plant people and i'm also interested in their background. Do you think they come from a planet where plants rule everything and animal life has never existed?

I agree, it doesn't matter whether it's not too original anymore or not; As long as the backstory and concept is amazing, I'm all for it.

I think they look nice, that is all that matters - in my case.
