Day-One Patch changelog?

There is a patch of 500MB...also the game size is 1.3gb, not 50mb, something is wrong with your game.

 

There was definitely a patch... I just closed Starbound, now I'm downloading a 548.3mb patch.

That's not how changelogs work. They're almost always created automatically. Software developers use something called revision control software to keep track of changes. They don't do this for users but it makes it easy to create things like changelogs.

 

Exactly this. As a software (day job) and game (night job) developer, as part of the source control, and JIRA (or whatever tracking you use, TFS, etc), the changelog is generated automatically on marking the code for a certain build release.

BTW: I restarted starbound, no patch yet on steam.

 

There is, it started as soon I as closed starbound 20 minutes ago. Must also be finicky yet

 

Im placing my bets on:
A) You all get to start over.
B )New items to aid you in not dying
C) NOT a nerf to the UFO Boss (You are all doing it wrong I tells ya!)
D) TIER TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (Which has the asteroid boss, and whos items are steel based)

 

I don't expect a changelog, to be honest. Right now the only major change I've noticed is that hazards work properly now. eg. Lava/Electricity etc.

 

A changelog would be really handy. I don't want to craft a new beacon just to place it and see that penguin bastard fly by, insta-Kill me and disappear.

 

The game download was around 1.6GB...not 50MB

 

Bumping, because changelogs are dev standard practice and shouldn't be neglected. The users should get a changelog for every patch to their product.

Be sure to refresh it once in a while. The list was half as big earlier today.

 

Yea I do actually expect a changelog every single patch like every single other game in existence has done to help know what's fixed, and to help bug test. Some people also get frustrated and stop playing until a certain fix, and will keep checking logs each patch to see if it's fixed instead of wasting time checking themselves(nothing like that here yet, but it is beta and some may find some things bad).

I know this was from yesterday, but yes. Yes I do want change logs. We are *testing* this game. In order to test it properly, it's important to know what bugs have been fixed, so that those issues can be tested again. Are they still buggy? Is something else wrong now? Regression testing is important.

 

Chucklefish just released another 572mb patch, sans-changelog. Clearly they're not listening to the forum.

 

The changelog has been on the news page for hours.

 

Which news page? Because there's nothing on the Steam news page, and their playstarbound.com front page has yesterday's 'first patch' details on it. Nothing of this one that just rolled in tonight.
