On a round planet, if it's midday somewhere, it's midnight at the oposite point of the planet. Spliting the planet in multiple time zones and shift the clock in each one should be great.

It have no interest for singleplayer, but in multiplayer, it can be interesting (I got this idea while playing multiplayer).

It would be better if the duration of a full day/night cycle is different for each planet, based on the speed of rotation.
For exemple big planet with a slow spinning speed will have 20 min of day and 20 minute of night (since you stay at the same place on the planet of course). While the little next planet will have 2 min of day and 2 min of night.

The day/night progresion should also go left to right or right left, depending of the direction of rotation of the planet.
With variable gravity (witch is already submitted) every single planet would feel more unique.

And we can imagine some craftable item or spaceship upgrade to detect the setup of the planet's day / night cycle (not sure if my sentence is understandable).
