Well most Db aren't infected creatures, they are born int the void.
Even so, I wouldn't hesitate to kill such an abomination.
Think about it, you cant save the host, it wants to kill you, and you must defend yourself.
That being said I doubt the host would be self aware anymore anyway.

Darkbounds can only go to VERY high difficulty right?

 

They would most likely be included as end game content.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Difficulty 101-110 Planets were added to this Mod to give Darkbound somewhere to make sense to be. The Darkbound are badass enough a Threat to where this would NOT be a big-headed thing to do.

& I bet these same Difficulty 101-110 Planets would be impossible to Colonize, so there was no way for Darkbound Infection & Homeworlds of ours to come into contact with each other. After all, if Difficulty 100 Planets are said to never get easy with top gear, then I seriously wouldn't blame the NPCs a bit if they would outright refuse to try to aid Colonization of Difficulty 101+ Planets, citing such an endeavor as hopeless & impossible.

I have to agree that i'm uncertain if I would really wanna have my Player-Made Homeworld annihilated by Darkbound Infection if I cannot defend against it. If I can defend against it without being Yrimir, then such a Game Mechanic might not be outta the question, especially if no form of Darkbound Damage was permanent & unrepairable.

Hmm... Now that I think of it... I wonder if some of the Darkbound Queen's 'Darkbound Tech' Rewards could be Homeworld-related... like a Device that emits the Queens Will to NOT Invade this particular World, thus giving your PC Homeworld a sort of 'Diplomatic Immunity' that would make Darkbound avoid your World whether they want to or not...? I would especially be damn tempted to comply with the Darkbound Queen's Quest Requests in exchange for something like this because I WILL be tempted to think of the benefit to myself & my personal world, considering i'm still hellbent on trying to Homeworld a Difficulty 100 Crystal World for a new Glunaught Home! Having the Darkbound NOT Infect Difficulty 100 Creatures into something I might not ever be able to defeat & protect my people from would be a damn tempting thought for me... I may be a musclehead, but I got my People to think about too, not just myself & my own neck... :whistle:

 

Hmmm, i like the idea of the emitter thing....perhaps there could be certain levels of it? starting at they won't invade a certain AREA of your planet, then up to the whole planet, then up to the whole star. Either way, it's a good idea.

 

Diplomatic immunity? We already know the queen won't bother to tell the Db not to attack YOU. Let alone leave a planet alone.
It sounds like a good idea, but still all you need is a multi star system and a lot of radars.
And we don't even know if this will be added officially, so don't get ahead of yourself.
It would be ashame, since all mods feel out of place no matter how well done they are.

 

i think this would be the ONE mod that felt in place, because it makes sense. The whole thing is perfectly thought out, and theres almost no loop holes. This will be the one mod i install myself, unless it's already in-game. either way, its finely crafted. No, i dare say, its a masterfully crafted *suggestion* =D

Another idea for a Darkbound Queen Tech Reward: Darkbound Defenses that would actively protect us & our allies, like for example, allied Darkbound Cola Machines! C'mon Queenie! Show us that ya aren't just pullin our legs when ya say we really did impress ya by surviving the trek to her personal presence!

 

You do realize all you suggested is anti Db tech right?
Do you really think the queen would give you means of defending yourself against its minions as a reward?
That wouldn't serve her purpose very well, especially when you would go rogue or cease to be useful.
May, just maybe a detector to warn you when her mindless puppets are close by, but apart from that nothing more than fancy eye candy.
You are overestimating its generosity.
