I've just been looking at the inorganic Darkbound ideas, and those ideas really made me smile.

Anyway, all this talk of evil has made me thirsty. Let me just grab a cola...

what if while a DB infects you, you could somehow bargain to be turned into a DB yourself instead of a simple host for that DB ?

That would be awesome! so you could:
1. Remain conscious
2.Have DB powers
3. go to the void with no protection
4.take over creatures

even if players will try to kill you and the daylight will harm you, it still would be cool

 

Would not work. Most lesser Darkbound, run on primal instincts, bargaining and reasoning would be futile unless you came into contact with The Queen, certain void and core born. And with those options you'd still probably end up a mindless husk

 

well, ifyou made it to the queen, she wouldnt just make you a husk. That would be a waste of potential! It has been stated before that she would be IMPRESSED with someone who can make it her, as she is guarded heavily. If she did make you a darkbound, I get the feeling that you could still be consious, as if not, then your tatics and skill just went down the shitter.

 

well, she close to immortal. and a husk is just freakin' wasteful. she has armies of them, so would it hurt to have something more iintelligent? that has already proved itself? You get the idea.
Also, if the person was a darkbound that was intelligent, then BAM threat terminated.

 

I had the question a while ago. They said that the queen wont make you a darkbound, but she will give you quests and reward you with tech. A downside is the other High Class/Elite Darkbound will want to kill you for trying to get in favor with the queen. I would serve the queen, but that would also mean i would have to be on guard for the rest of my life.

 

Vs being on guard for the rest of your life while ALL Darkbound wanna eat you?

Oh, speaking of "reward you with tech", how about a Darkbound Mech?

feels soo like the dark side of the force more power for less freedom and all that. Id still stay my race of choice seeing as how the lucent skelenton are more friendly then their darkbound equlivant

 

I am a horrible, corrupt person, so i would go with power. freedom is for hipsters and chumps.

 

It has already been said that you can't be a Db,you would die.
It makes sense,since you'd be taken over by a parasitic life form,mutated beyond recognition,mind controlled,etc.
Just like the pawns of the reapers,nothing more than husks.
Also why would the queen need a rational servant?You would think an ancient mind would have some degree of tactics and planning.

 

The queen world need a rational servant because she cant think of everything and she dosn't understand the concept of emotion. Emotion has dictated the outcome of many things throughout human history. I know she is a near godly enitity but that dosn't mean it can do EVERYTHING at once. She would problibly give you command over a group of darkbound and you would serve as a general or something. Also, as stated before, she would be very impressed if you made it to her and she would consider it a waste of time to kill you. (The battle would take a very long time)

 

The reason the queen would want a rational servant is to complete tasks that normal darkbound can not. Say the queen learned of equipment that could possibly be annoyance to her because it kills darkbound, your services would be needed since you aren't infected but willing to serve your highness. In return you are probably reward with more darkbound equipment as well as other things.

The queen is a near omnipotent entity,very old and powerful,why would it need a limited being as a servant.
If anything it would take your Dna and mix it with the rest of the puppets.
Also emotion doesn't stand a chance against overwhelming force,and killing you would be rather easy.

 

So she wouldn't think about manipulating other non infected until she would see you?

 

A little hard to get darkbound to not consume something. And the missions she sends you on would require you to a fairl competent warrior and tactician. She wouldnt trust anyone to do things for her. If you reach her chamber then you have more than proven yourself.

 

She would need need to use smart Bd and threaten to leave them without cores if they screw up.
Also tactics?She defeated the lc,what would you bring to the table?
Also,about emotion,look at other fictional monsters like the zerg and tyranids,they can't feel emotion,and they tear apart everything they encounter anyway.
And they scare the Begeejus out of the other races.
