Sorry, another question what is the process of infection mentally, is it a mind wipe than 2 ideas placed, sty away from UV and okay queen?

If you really want a more detailed description, a Sibyl is a creature that is tough to infect, due to its ability to sense danger and extreme intelligence. However, upon infection, the Sibyl loses its ability to breed, and its 'eyeggs' turn into cores. Otherwise, nothing else changes. Other than the fact that they have the same color scheme, a Darkbound Sibyl is no different than any other Sibyl in terms of behavior. The only other difference is that if it spits blood at another creature or player, theres a chance that they might get infected too. A Darkbound Sibyl is capable of recognition, unlike most other darkbound. This is due to their unmatched intelligence that they can defy the Queen's orders.

 

The infection begins on the surface of your skin, and works its way down into your bloodstream... Once the virus enters your bloodstream it only takes a matter of minutes until you start to lose functionality as a sentient being... Your brain's major neurological pathways become blocked as the virus propagates itself and feeds on your body's energy-rich fat cells... Given that your brain requires certain fatty components in order to function, the rough infection will kill your ability to think rationally within an hour...

By the time a whole day has passed, you will have reverted into a creature of pure instinct and will no longer have any access to higher-level brain functions... Although your neural tissue will still be intact and all neural pathways will still be preserved, you will not be able to access any of them at this point without advanced biochemical restoration or augmentation...

The Core was a breakthrough in Darkbound innovation and was created by the Queen herself millenia ago back in our home dimension... It integrated itself into any organic tissue and sent out tendrils through the body of the organism that sought out neural fibers of any sort and connected them all together with the Core as the main hub... This created a central cortex for cognitive thought, analysis, and even learning for creatures that before only existed to feed and avoid the light... The Coreless were elevated into sentient beings overnight as they replicated the Cores and spread them amongst their brethren... As a side-effect of being exposed to the outside environment, the Core evolved with the Corebound themselves and eventually became able to map out environments with rudimentary infrared vision capabilities...

True to its original purpose, the Core still serves as a main hub of interconnection between various nerve systems within an organism, and can adjust itself to even coordinate massively complex nervous systems like a human's... Thus, it can revive neural tissue that has been infected by the Darkbound Virus and even reanimate subjects that had been recently killed for a time before they begin to decay again... Every single core resonantes with the others, allowing ideas, thoughts, experiences and even memories to be shared between them... The Corebound serve willingly, and there is no "mind-wiping" involved... It would be a waste of valuable information...

 

That is really awesome. There should be a book or note or something in the void that explains that.

 

Why the buggers would Darkbound use Books?

 

I know it says the have no form of cure when fully infected. And like you said the play just would not be able to go around in the sun.Yet i think a quest to remove it could work like you'll have to buy a VERY heat resistant suit and travel to a sun and divve bomb into it or some thing cus it would suck never being able to travle in the daylight for a mess up.
Anyone agree?

If you are fully infected, your body will be completely devoid of necessary fats such the lipid used to compose the myelin sheaths on your brain cells... Your brain will actually collapse upon itself without the fats that normally keep it suspended... The brain will constantly "short out" as it attempts to send signals between the neurons, and any movement will be spasmodic and jerky... While it is conceivable possible to drag yourself to relative safety, you would need to have access to extremely advanced bio-synthesis arrays as well as extremely precise surgical implements such as nanobots to restore the normal brain map and the synthesized fats to their proper locations...

Regardless, the chances that you won't be incapacitated and captured by a wandering Darkbound is infinitesimal, as your warm bodies look like glowing abberations to any of our minions in sight range to you...

(OOC: Darkbound Infection slows your movement, deals constant damage, and sometimes moves you in a random direction. The effects become more prevalent until the percentage reaches 100%, when you cannot use ranged weapons and are forced to crawl around on the ground. Direct sunglight, UV radiation(Keep in mind a 100% infection rate will cause UV light to also damage you), Med-Stations, Emergency Medkits, Black Coffee and Medical Nanobots will all lower the infection percentage to a point.)

 

I hope that infection isn't a common status, otherwise exploring Darkbound territory is going to be...
