Darkbound: Legacy of the Lucent Update Part 2!

With my part non-infected self could I still use it? I'm 89% darkbound, 8% centaur and 3% Oni (from their souls) if not I request modifications...

 

The soul is not something that this particular device can sense ... It is, however, restricted to those who have cores embedded in them(The Coreless have a tendency to get everywhere and try to eat most things)... We once saw a prototype of a gauntlet that was made mostly of Corehide, and it was embedded with cores similarly to a normal Darkbound... Through the interplay of techology and the biology of this particular glove, the user pontentially would be able to utilize Darkbound machines and weaponry... With a full set of such armor, one could possibly even fool the less-intelligent Corebound and Coreless into thinking them an ally...

This is, of course, all conjectural though, as the offending innovation was lost during the razing of their major colonies...

 

Wait a second so if the player becomes fully infected is it lik game over cus you can't control your player? because like you said you can only cure it with light and if it passes a point you can not cure it.

Well I imagine (gameplay wise) since you (the player) have a strong will, you would be able to keep control. But you would not survive in sunlight.

 

Oh that's cool then. Gonna be a ton harder to explore though but its better than nothing.

 

"Amao" Corecraft Repeater Rifle​

This weapon is designed to create and propel carefully-engineered spines that store energy inside of them before they are fired. These spines explode shortly after impact, allowing them to deal physical as well as energy-based damage. These rifles fire quickly in 4-shot bursts, but time must be allowed for the spines to regenerate and charge after each volley is fired. The combination of damage types allows this rifle to be used in a variety of situations. Since this weapon is not Voidcraft, anyone who picks it up and has knowledge of the firing mechanisms of the weapon can utilize it, though non-Darkbound may experience adverse reactions to the materials it is composed of if they are not protected.​

 

Something's gotta have something to do with us Respawning back at the Space Station with (hopefully) our stuff intact. I assume whatever does this would likely treat our Darkbound Infected Body little different from a dead body & bug us out before we're (as in our mind, thus 'us') lost forever. Then I wonder if we could then go back to the area of our defeat & find our prior Body (now fully Darkbound Infected) & put it outta it's misery...?

 

I would like fight a Darkbound of myself, that would be pretty interesting. Especially if you died a ton of times, you might find yourself fighting an army of er... Yourself.

 

That is, of course, assuming you have a Bio-Synthesis module on your space station, coupled with some kind of neural implant that can transfer your consciousness into another body... You could return to the location and destroy your former body, which could potentially be fully infected by that point... Destroying the creature would possibly be the most morally-obvious choice, but perhaps by studying it you could get a better insight into your own physiology and the interplay it has when combining with the traits of various other species...

Such glorious research to be considered, it sometimes boggles the mind... Did I mention that the Infector decided to consider me for an apprenticeship?

Starbound's not gonna feel complete without the Darkbound in it.

 

I totally agree, but if the Devs decided to let a ton of their demographic down, we always got modding.
