    Moved to General Discussion.

Also, you don't need to allow anyone on your server if you don't want to. Set a password or use the accounts feature (see the multiplayer forum for help on this). If your issue is with a mod, don't install the mod. If the mod doesn't have to be installed on the server to cause trouble, go back to the first thing I said and block undesirables from logging into your server.

Isn't there some sort of hack out that lets malicious players bypass security measures and romp on servers unfettered?

I don't condone this kind of behavior at all.

That having been said, I clicked on that mod link and now I have an overwhelming desire to possess a Cat-Apult.

I'm not even sure what that is but I know I want one.

Password isn't a valid response unless the host doesn't mind shutting out a huge chunk of the playerbase. The damage caused is not that easy to reverse without copying/pasting files which can annoy people who like building. Also causes extreme lag pretty much rendering the entire server unplayable. Griefers also don't have to have a mod installed on a server to grief it. They can edit mods without using custom assets like graphics or projectiles and then take those mods onto any server because the game is CLIENT BASED and does not have an account system... So, really, there isn't jack anyone can do except use a password which, again, shuts out a lot of traffic.

What security measures? Laggy third party wrappers only go so far.

If the server owner does not wish to use a password then that's their problem. Most multiplayer game server hosts use a password/account system and/or a good banlist to protect their servers (and keep backups of important files). If you play on a server where the server owner either chooses to allow this type of activity or does not care, find a new server to play on if you don't like it. Yeah, you'll lose some potential players by vetting your playerbase. That's the whole idea. Keep out the bad/undesirable players and let in the ones who seem decent. Personally, I tend to question someone's motives for joining when they complain to me about filling out a simple 4 question app that takes about 5 minutes (I prefer questions that force them to read the rules, quite a few apps take ~30 seconds). Not all servers do this, but a goodly number of them do because it works. Also, the server DOES have an account system (albeit a simple one), you just need to set it up.

Anyways OP, your options pretty much are: 1) ask the server owner to deal with it, either banning or using a password etc, 2) find a new server, 3) start your own private server and invite only those you trust, 4) play single-player. Complaining here is not effective as basic tools for managing who can connect to a server have been put in the server itself, so it's the server owner's responsibility to manage their playerbase, not Chucklefish. (Could the tools be better? Yeah, but the basic ones in there now will work for now if you use them properly. If you want to suggest improvements, head to the Suggestions forum.)

Dunto is near-enough spot on(A few minor things I would disagree with, but they're trivial).

If the server you're on can't deal with those weapons, which I'm sorry to say are novice level grief items, you should find a better server.

    Here's a good public server; us.ilovebacons.com
