I was hoping a dev would see this thread and considers adding this in because I am almost positive I am not the only person that wants this in game Head=175% damage Chest=125% damage Foot=75% damage Leg=100% damare slows enemy Anywhere else=100% damage
I don't see how this could work. The game is a 2D sidescroller. You can't exactly place hits precisely. Although, that's just my thoughts.
Somewhat good concept, but grammar could use a little work. You should also be able to hit enemies in the Knee with a bow and arrow and have a chance to cause a sound recording of "I used to be an adventurer like you, but then i took an arrow in the knee".
Unlike many 3D games, those 2D animations don't have joints or have multiple parts that are set together. The are a set of a couple pictures like in a cartoon. You'd have to recreate much in this game to have such an effect or define areas for each enemy and player model by hand. In the end it would also be usable only for ranged classes. Also those special zones would be far to small to make use of them. Characters aren't really that big so imagine trying to hit such a zone. Also you can't really divide 2D art into parts with joints. How would you be able to hit an elbow if everything else is in it's way from a side perspective. Something like hit zones would maybe make more sense for bosses that have a decent size and weak spots.
Ok thanks for the output this would be a great idea on larger enemies like you guys said and I see how joints could be a problem and for when I said melee I ment if you are using a wep like a short sword in terraria but if joints and probably arm and hand were taken away this would be a lot better
It's an idea, but I was thinking that you could find a gun (probably a sniper or other long range weapon) that has this effect e.g. +75% headshot damage. Otherwise it seems like it is a big inventive to use projectile weapons rather than melee.
I never thought of that that would be a great idea so some weapons have additional damage depending on where you hit the enemy
