Daily updates

So for three days now weve been getting short but really refreshing progress updates, but am i the only one feeling like Tiy is sort of saying "FINE you have your daily updates" a little passive aggressively, i mean im sure this is not the intention whatsoever but it feels like our whining finally won out

 

Not at all. It seems like he just wants to share, honestly.

 

He's just giving out little tidbits to make us remember he's in a position of power. He's saying "That's right. Take your little screenshots. Soon you will all be my pawns."

 

Is it possible for the developers to do anything without someone complaining? Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Why does it have to be that Tiy is passive-aggressively attacking his community instead of, I don't know, acknowledging the frustration that was present on the forums? How are these updates all that different from him tweeting and sharing live streams of what he was working on every other day? I'm enjoying these updates and would be happy with 1 a week because its tangible progress, and I don't at all feel like Tiy is doing this begrudgingly because he wants us to shut up.

This is one thing I hated about reading the World of Warcraft forums, because every possible answer a Blizzard rep could have possibly made was the wrong answer to the community (including silence.) Don't kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.

my biggest problem with forums is people never reading the OP, i was just kidding around

 

I think these daily updates are great. They're short enough that they don't take up time to write, the screencaps give us something to look at and talk about, and the progress updates keep people calm while we wait for the beta. I hope they continue.

I am really loving these small little updates. Hopefully, they aren't too much trouble to make. I just enjoy seeing new content, even if it's things that are already confirmed. For example, the one posted today. I LOVED the little mural painted on the bricks. To my knowledge, we've already known about everything in that picture, but it still made my day seeing it. It's just great seeing new content even if it isn't actually amazingly new and revolutionary.

 

I've been reading the forums steadily since before the pre-orders went up and it's discouraging to see how disrespectful the community has become in the last month. I'm sure you didn't "mean anything by it" but the same way someone says "No offense" before they continue on with "but you're really fat," voicing something negative and prefacing it with a little disclaimer doesn't mean anything because you're still voicing the negative. That's like the ultimate definition of passive aggressive :s

Maybe this is just a pet peeve of mine, but it has been pretty consistent from the announcement of the "starter pets" stretch goal.

 

I love the daily updates. It's always nice to know what awesome features the guys are working on!

 

I'm just happy we're getting updates, hell if they did this weekly I'd be content.

I love your avatar. I learned how to read on Calvin and Hobbes. Anywho, it is a pretty nice change to the waiting for weeks to get an update

 

It comes down to one of two things.

The devs decided, hey let's give everyone some more updates so that they know what we're up too.

or.

The devs decided, my god, let's just give them something so they'll stop their bitching and whining.

So either way, I am fine with the updates though I'd rather them spread out a bit more, every week would be fine. Just I'd hate to see what'll happen if they get really busy and can't post an updated for a day or two after they post one every day for a few weeks. x.x It's going to be worse them the pet stretch goal rage.

 

Tiy's obviously been replaced by a pod person. I for one welcome the alien presence in development.

 

I'm guessing that this *might* be a hint towards a beta coming soon? Maybe?

 

Doubt it. They're still pretty far off.

Thats what i'm thinking. While i really appreciate these little updates, doing it daily is very ambitious. Should the devs miss/skip one, all hell will break loose.
