I think there was a thread about this a while back, but as the team is really going into dev mode, do you prefer to have daily updates or periodic updates (an update every few days)?

Honestly, while the daily updates were nice, having more periodic ones might be better. I care more for the convenience of the devs than needing to know what they did today. Especially if they work more on the game than working on telling us how much they've been working on the game.

I would rather have a periodic update, so we can get a wide amount of information, and it'd be easier to track.

Periodic updates. They will spend more time on the game, rather than news in that case.

I prefer periodic honestly to me monthly would be better you would get bigger chunks of info and they could concentrate on the game more.

I agree but for a different reason. In that periodic updates would generally be of better quality and would be more content rich as more would have been done and there would be more time to plan the update.

Periodic, due to the daily updates I've been turned into a Starbound head, which is basically a crack head. If I don't get a daily update I somewhat feel left out and demand more, It's like going through withdrawals. Having it every week would be just fine though because if it's monthly it'll just be the monthly newsletter.

Every 3-4 days, or even weekly, would be better I think. Daily is likely pretty stressful on the devs (especially whoever has to do the update), plus a larger amount of time between each update means it'll have more "meat" on it, so to speak. So it would be win-win for both the devs and us.

Daily updates are great, but some days it feels like they shouldn't have tried putting up one at all with how much information was in it. I'd be much more happy with periodic than daily if we get more info from it. Plus i'm sure its annoying for them to make an update every day.

Yeah. Periodic seems fine to me as well. Indiestone does Mondoids for Project Zomboid and everybody is happy :p

Periodic, and they don't need to be any bigger, a condensed version with a few screenshots (if relevant) does it, imo. I'd find it cool if it was weekly.

  14. I'd feel more comfortable with the less frequent, more informative updates. I wonder if the Dev-team feel the same.;)

I would prefer weekly updates, but I'm wondering if this is actually of any sense since I do not really care about those "tweaking"-news, and they won't give us any spoilers too.

It would be interesting how many of the actual work makes it into the updates.

My vote is tossed into the periodic option, Stardew Valley Dev: ConcernedApe does a decent job of this, while he doesn't update often (About one a month that I've seen.) Each of his updates is not only large in size, they show off another new feature to the game that's fully implemented (Or mostly implemented) and how it works, can effect your gameplay etc, it makes for a better update overall, so I could definately see an update happening every week, couple weeks etc, all that being said, let's all hope we don't have to many more updates before the devs slap us around and say "HERE IS YOUR DAMN BETA NOW SHUT UP" or something along those lines.

Either. Though I think periodic might be easier on the devs. I'm sure they are busy as :poo:, so maybe those might be better. Plus I kind of like the idea of checking the site periodically and being pleasantly surprised to find an update rather than checking it every morning and being disappointed part of the time. I remember when I first started coming here, back when we barely got one update a month. Man it used to make my week when they put one up on the front page. I was never disappointed back then because there was no schedule and no expectation. Regardless, I'm completely indifferent. Whatever is best for them.

    SPACE! :viking:

Interesting, 50 votes and only 18 comments (19 including me) and (almost) all comments are pro periodic. (Sarzael not really clear which way they voted)
I voted periodic as well, for similar reasons as above, bigger gaps between them allows for more stuff to happen, giving the updates a chance to have more meat on them, whilst also taking a little bit of pressure off of the updater.

I'd most rather have meaningful updates. Having status updates as some form of tradition just seems weird to me.
