Now I personally don't know if the glitch have a planet similar to this suggestion but if not then hey it' something new! I suggest there be Cybernetic Planets, where everything from the plant's and animals to the ground is made of metal. (think cybertron) It could also host a vast amount of junk. Edit: Topics discussed in this thread / details -Junk planets contain faulty glitch -Basically a graveyard these gutter trash -The planet's surface contains vast amounts of scrap heaps -Riddled with small glitch shacks for those glitch that are still active -Possible stashes of hoarded loot -Mobs that don't tend to like you trespassing on their junk heap.
Yes! I would just love to salvage the sh*t out of those planets, rebuild robots and other junk I find and sell it to the highest bidder! And then I'd buy better gear so I can salvage more stuffs!
I could just image the types of enemies / creatures. Broken Glitches, robot species of any kind, maybe even some animated blobs. I would love to just explore them massive piles of junk. Bonus points for junk caves with creatures that love to hoard.
I would guess, since there is a race that are robots (Glitch) that there would also be robotic plants and animals too... right?
From what I understand the Glitch have a medieval/renaissance European style society and I don't think a junk planet would really fit them. On the other hand maybe their creators have other failed experiments that they just dumped somewhere, and that friends could make some interesting stuff.
This would be pretty cool. i mean you could even have like The Dead Glitch infected with a computer virus that like reanimates them and makes them a hostile mob to fight while salvaging these planets.
Junkyard planets are a cool idea. They're a recurring SF trope. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LandfillBeyondTheStars Think Planet Junkion, Raxus Prime, the Death Star garbage chute, or the Earth from WALL-E. They could be filled with interesting mutated monsters and obscure technological scrap (which some NPCs would need for side quests.) Or self-assembled junk robots.
And since the glitch are medieval maybe a shoddy run down glitch peasant village / castle made from junk!
Yeah, I don't even know why the Glitch even got roped into the junk planet idea. Medieval junkyards were quite modest.
I wouldn't think unique ores, more of a unique ore distribution. While particular planets might be heavy on one or two certain ores, (Earth for example is a iron heavy planet) junk planets would have a fairly wide diversity of materials. All the disparate materials used to make the different junk. Also while other planets would have the mass of their mineral wealth deeper into them a junk planet would have its ores fairly evenly distributed throughout.
Well to be honest in Medieval times people threw their fecies and other unneeded 'junk' out their front window each and every day, whats more is that their living conditions were very poor due to poorly constructed wood housing. In a futuristic settings, it could be possible that their junk went form food scraps to unused mechanical organisms.
While it is true that medieval societies had horrible living conditions, that didn't throw out enough junk to make an entire planet, even considering that the Glitch's trash might be mostly non biodegradable and that we really don't know how long they have been dumping the stuff the simple idea of making an entire planet of or covered in junk would pretty much require some outside help.
