    Hey guys!
Given the large amount of debate in the "What is the death penalty of this game" thread, what about this?
There could be like three presets that you could change to your liking. For example, in the medium one, the preset could have you drop all items and money. You could go to advanced options for it and maybe change it so you only drop 5-20 of your items, and half your money.. In the hardcore mode, maybe you could give yourself three lives so it's not immediately game over for you. Possibly on the easy mode, to easy-fy it even more, you only drop like a fourth of your money, so you can begin to learn the game.
I don't know, it's just something that game to mind when I posted on that thread.
Thoughts? Other options? Let me know what you think. :)
I did a bit of searching and nothing too similar came up to this. Sorry if I missed it.

That would be rather interesting. Not sure if I have seen any games that have an advanced option for the difficulty mode.

Not sure if this counts as customizable difficulty, but I think fan-made challenges would be awesome. "Not allowed to heal in boss fights" or "Only using this weapon" challenges are always entertaining to play through and can add extra replaybility to the game. Besides that, the idea of having customizable difficulty sounds awesome.

Harder modes? Yeah, that'd be cool. I wouldn't mind the changeably options and variables.

Easier difficulties than we already have, a.k.a. hand holding?

    The difficulty is already flexible.

Among tier 3 planets, I can choose any difficulty between 20 and 29. All of these planets will have roughly the same items available, but the higher level planets in that tier will provide stronger enemies and harsher environments, with the benefit of higher chances for better rewards. Because of this, it will take longer to get the same quality of rewards on lower level planets in the same tier. In the end, you can choose to play the game faster and harder, or take it slow and easy.
