Suggestion: - Dyes can be crafted from any basic material on a planet (plants, animals, ores) - Dyes have a unique colour code ( procedural based, RGB ) that is only discovered when crafting Benefits: - Players would have to search around different worlds, testing items for dye colours - Knowledge about rare colours might then be worth trading with other players - e.g. planet location, material Limitations: - Players would have to work harder to get the exact shade of colour they want Notes: This idea was posted back in the Dyeing Weapons thread and gained me a few likes - I was encouraged to repost here. Let me know what you think! My original post:
Sorry, I didn't mean how did the graphical part of the dye system work... I meant how do we apply colours? Does it require an ingame material that's converted, or is it just colour wheel / sliders that we can bring up at any point in the game? My suggesting tackles the creation and application of dyes in a way that links the end colour to tangible events in the game, like exploring for a specific / rare monster on a certain world to get the perfect green dye, or in the pits of the darkest dungeon for the blackest of blacks.
Dyeing hasn't been elaborated on that much but I'm fairly certain dyes will be crafted. As for how many colors we'll have available, that remains to be seen. I definitely would not expect the full color spectrum though.
