This seemingly harmless Alien artifact can't hurt the player directly. When players come close enough to see their own reflection however, a horde of skeletal astronauts jump out! Beguiled by the mirror they starved to death staring into the nothingness that of their own reflection. In death they serve the artifact, guarding it from anything unwilling to be caught in its grasp.
This is cool. It seems like it would be fun to fight/destroy. A good mini-boss or full boss even. Is the idea that it would spawn skeletal copies of the player, or just a preset army of skeleton astronauts?
skeletons dont have eyes! I started with skeleton doppelgangers, they would work just as well, just liked this better.
The idea is awesome. I can totally see these mirrors scattered in some ancient alien temple or as miniboss in the same dungeon.
Niiiiice design, always good to bring a little more "fantasy-ish" stuff into a sci-fi game, makes it more diverse.
... And every time you die to the mirror it adds another servant to it's personal army. This sound like it could become a major pain in the butt! It's simple yet the idea of an cursed artifact... its so cool to me... Specially the fact it spit skellingtons. God how I love fighting skellingtons!
It's supposed to be an original idea. I don't know if you knew this, but in a British BBC television show called Doctor Who, there are skeleton astronauts in the episode Scilence in the Library. Just letting you know. But the idea is great, but maybe just leave out the astronaut part. Also, very nice art.
Oooh. Reminds me of the Vashta Nerada. If this DOES get implemented, we need the reference. "WHO TURNED OUT THE LIGHTS!?"
