Error on launch
Try doing a repair on viscual c++
Ok people, that have been getting a C++ runtime error on windows 7 and 8 install this http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30679
This goes to those who get an error that gives them an exception and some code install the C++
Please refer to my post above this one, also once you install the 2012 package, restart your computer
For those of you who can't play instruments in Angry Koala:
Open your Starbound folder in Steamapps, then browse to the Assets folder, open up songbook.config, and find and delete the following lines:
"B" : "D";
"E" : "G";
After deleting these, you can play instruments without a crash!
Starbound doesn't open for me after I updated to the Angry Koala patch. Anyone experiencing anything like this? I'm on mac, by the way.
Un-stickying this thread, as a user has posted a more complete list of fixes here: http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/master-list-of-starbound-fixes.57854/
yep, same thing on windows vista, havent found a fix yet.
PLEASE---- my error says starbound has exited on startup or something. im pissed casue i payed money on this game so i would enjoy if i could actualy play it! i have a mac too
One, that's not what this thread is really for.
Two, there will probably be something in starbound.log that will be informative. Assuming starbound.log even exists.
Error on launch
Remove any mods.
If you still get the error, Verify in Steam.
If you still get the error, remove your Universe directory.
I can't get any of this shit to work...why did i spend $15 to stare at a black screen?
The same reason you came on here with literally no information: you want us to read your mind and serve you a perfect product without any problems whatsoever, even though both are clearly impossible.
Playing on Steam via OSX and am unable to start the game. On startup I get the "Starbound quit unexpectedly" window immediately.
Have checked several fixes that refer to local files, specifically the "Players" file, which I'm missing. The only files I've got in local content are:
Starbound (the app, and only one that isn't a folder)
No players file.
have also verified integrity of game cache, and uninstalled/reinstalled local files, to no avail. Anybody? Cause I really wanna play this fu**in' game...
Upgrading my OS to Maverick fixed this issue.
Hey everyone ive found really easy way around the launcher, all you have to do is go C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\win32 and in win32 there is a Starbound application and it has the little penguin logo launch it and it bypasses the login, everything works all the same like ive been playing on a dedicated server for a couple of weeks using this way so your character is saved and all. Hope this helps
whenever I start starbound it crashes and an error comes up anyone who can help?
