I read that there is a measly 1% chance for either the head, chest, or leggings to drop. I do not believe they can be found in chests, but I did obtain the cultist chest-plate once through killing a bunch of cultists.

    (Spoiler?)

Maybe you might be able to get the cultist set fairly without admin commands through the Baron's Keep mission, since the place is polluted with cultists.

Edit: The cultists of the Baron Mission are humans,

USCM prison lore reveals that the cultists(who are named the "Ocasus" iirc the spelling) are actually all humans.

They're basically a human supremacist group/cult who hope to use the ruin to wipe of the universe of any races that isn't human.

You can get the standard cultist set farming the glitch mission. The armored one can't be obtained legally I believe

I think the armored set was just Knight armor dyed purple with a standard Cultist Hood.

I managed to get the chestpiece after doing the Baron's keep a few times. I mean, they dress so stylishly.

Even if you managed to get all the pieces... you can't capture Ruin monsters or get the sword, sadly. At least you can get cultist tenants. Had a few join my ship crew, but for some reason they don't dye their hoods like the rest of their costume so it looks funny.

With the story update they're are humans since they are part of a cult that is basically the nazis but with humans as Germans and every other race as Jews, unles you are talking about the eye cultists

The Armored Cultist Set isn't legitimately available, but there's a Frackin' Universe set that uses the same sprites and name.
The normal set is rarely dropped by Occasus cultist, but the chance is pretty low, so it's possible to only get one piece after doing the Keep mission.

The cultist enemies are always human because the whole of the cult is about the ruin and how it is going to destroy every race but humanity because of its "perfection." This is coming from the journal of Asra Nox. So the tenants must be from a different cult or are a different species just for variety in colony.

They are a different cult, as the tenants wear black hoods, while Occasus cultists wear purple ones.
