Crystal Planet/Biome Being Made?

In this picture, you can see Rho and Tiy in a space station, which is on a crystallized planet. This picture's already been seen by mostly everybody but.. what's in it? You generally see a crystal planet with shards everywhere, a space station and crystal mountains in the background. But what about the area to the right of the space station?



Some speculation in notes. Before reading further, look at the image. So, this appears to have giant crystal shards in the background, smaller ones on the bricks, a crystallized tree, a cake-like tile and a new creature. What is that creature? It looks like a grey, humanoid bunny thing. I'm probably thinking of something else but the point is that this is an unusual/awesome/cute creature.

All of this is supar extremely awesome looking, although I do have some thoughts and questions. The creature looks weak and easily captured. Those bricks don't look natural. (The space station also sits on these) Is it possible to cut down that crystal tree or gather the shards on the bottom? What would those shards do? Also, does this music prove the crystal planet might be confirmed? (scroll down)

that thing in the bottom right does NOT look like a cake, looks like a large gaping maw. Which is extremely unpleasant looking.

Hm. This is the first I have heard of this music. Where is it from? Is it fan-music, or is it from the devs?

 

The devs spammed the IRC with it, apparently. Someone claimed that they came on and saw this link being spammed by the devs.

 

Offtopic: I look at the music, and it was posted 3 months ago, it looks like the possible soundtrack; and it is beautiful.
I'm staying awake at 11pm, listening to the exploration music and feeling euphoria, then listening to the battle music and imagining the game itself.
Why... hasn't this come to earth before?

I think the picture is proof enough. The music doesn't have much bearing on specific places.
Those shards are just the background...
I think you're looking too deep into it.

 

The crystal planet has been a known thing for quite awhile. Terrain generation is going to be procedurally generated, but while that shot was taken awhile back, they said that backgrounds and terrain would follow a theme much better. The mobs may "look weak" but I have it from the devs themselves that even the most common mobs will be something to fear. The crystal trees CAN be cut down, harvested, and re-planted, as can ALL trees in the game.

In the music thing there is Lava Exploration. Does that mean a lava planet? Or will there be things in lava that you can find/monsters you can kill. But will require special gear like was mentioned previously by devs...

 

I think they also said that there are red crystal planets, and I think i saw a picture of a green crystal tree somewhere...

 

The thing in the bottom right looks more like a worm with its mouth open than a cake, and that bunny looking thing is probably that.

 

That is the land of pokey-eye-out. I hope there are decent safety goggles.

Well, I'm glad you pointed out the crystal shards, because there was no way I would have seen them myself!
Jokes aside, that screenie looks great, and I suddenly have the urge to wear protective eyewear.

 

That thing in the corner reminds me something from an old episode of Spongebob Squarepants; the one where they piss off that giant worm and that squirrel saves the day.
And it looks like the place could be underground, seeing as you can't see the sun/stars or anything from a normal atmosphere. Another thing pointing towards that thought is that crystals typically form underground.

 

Rich people shouild live there! .

 

The thing in the right looks more like an animal that is about to bite something.

 

The thing in the bottom right sorta kinda looks like a horse pulled wagon, but I don't know how relavent that is in the game.
